2) Yes, I'm excited for them- I remember how much I loved the end of each school year! I also love the mellower mornings we have during the summer. We still get up and moving each morning but there's something to be said about having an 8:45am departure as oppsed to 7:30 am.
3) I love the longer days and am looking forward to more tennis, swimming and our family bike rides. I'm also excited about our travel plans and their summer camps.
4) Some of THOSE longer days...View Thread

Saturday was filled with baseball, teeball and more play rehersal. Saturday night we had a sitter and went to our school auction, fundraiser and dinner. It was Western themed and while we thought it would be a cheese fest, it was actually great fun! We ended up with 2 cases of great wines, an electric scooter and a Nerf gun basket. Had some very happy kids Sunday morning!
On Sunday morning DH and the kids went to my favorite bakery and got me coffee and chocolate croissants and gave me homemade cards, flowers and a pair of earrings. At noon we grabbed my Mom and went to the golf club for their amazing Mother's Day brunch. It was a great day!!View Thread

Our preschool doesn't do much either except have a class sing with snacks and drinks on the last day. I'm really not sure why the whole town thinks the first graduation should be at the end of 8th grade so we have always hosted a big party after the Pre-K sing for each of our kid's classes.
The big kids are already begging to play hookey on June 7th so they can be here for Coco's big "end of preschool" bash. LOL!View Thread

Things that have helped us all involve staying intouch with our communities. We joined the local tennis and swim club and have the kids take lessons there and have them play on local tennis and swim teams when they want to play/swim competitively. We go out once a month for a Friday night family dinner and try and gather other families to join. I began to volunteer at the public library and at both schools (running fundraisers or at least participating is a great way to meet moms). I offer to host or at least help plan class parties and parent coctkail events for all three kid's classes. I also set up various carpools and playdates for the kids so that I can get to know other parents better.
Once you start to meet moms and make friends, put yourself out there and keep the social ball rolling with invites for kid activities, mom lunches, coffee breaks, after drop-off walks, kid swapping, carpooling, etc. I takes work but really does make you feel better about life. At least it does for me.View Thread

Oh and his pinewood derby car won first place which was, as far as DS is concerned, his greatest life accomplishment so far. LOL!View Thread

DD1 was also a top of the chart girl from babyhood until late in 2nd grade. In the last 2 years she's fallen from the 95%tile to a mere 45th for height. Her weight has always been about 50% and is now around 40th. I'm guessing my genes are finally showing through as I am only 5'2 and didn't hit 100 pounds until close to 21.View Thread

Tomorrow is Logan's night in the kitchen and if memory serves me correctly he's planned chicken wings, carrots sticks and whole wheat pasta that is shaped like bugs. I detest chicken wings so will also bake up a salmon filet or two.
Friday night we're going out for fajitas and margaritas. By then the fridge will be all but empty given we'll be gone for the next 8 days.View Thread

How was Scottsdale? We're heading there on Saturday for a week of swimming, hiking and biking with my childhood pals, their kids and my extended family. Coco is so excited about the Phx. Zoo!View Thread
