4. That I will be turning 50. Upside we are going to go to one of my favorite restaurants, Chez Pannisse. It should be re-opened by then. They had a small fire causing it to close temporarily.View Thread
I try keep it simple and we have a basic week day rotation because we are packed with swim practice five days a week and French tutoring plus DH doesn't get home until 7 p.m. most nights. This means I'm in charge of all afternoon activities, chores, homework, dinner plus fielding emails and like for the office. We also try to avoid meat during the week for health reasons. With summer time, like others, more fresh veggies. I always have on hand homemade red sauce. I do up about 4 weeks worth and freeze. This means spaghetti every week with a salad, so one day of the week is a total no brainer. I also make up my own pizza dough on Sunday put in the frig to pull out during the week. DH and I have things like spinach, red bell peppers . . . on ours. Levi just cheese. I make bread salad a lot in the summer. Also do a cold spaghetti salad with just dried basil, a little olive oil, and Reggiano Parmigiano. I make tuna sandwiches on rolls with just tuna and with either mayo or olive oil spread on the roll. This is also a once a week staple in our home. Wintertime less cold salad stuff more soups that can be made ahead on the weekend.View Thread
It was busy but nice. Friday, as I explained below was the White Sox game/sleepover. The boys lasted until the bottom of the 7th, which was about 10 p.m. At lot longer than expect particularly given it was in the low 40s. They stayed up until midnight and then woke again at 6:30. One of the boys left at 8:00 a.m. for a soccer game and the other at 10 a.m. for a karate tourny. We lazed around. The afternoon a friend and family came over along with my BIL and wife and we all went for dinner in the neighborhood. They hung out until about 9 pm. I slept like a rock, which is something I haven't done in ages. Sunday usually Mother's Day stuff, had lunch at a favorite restaurant. It was too cold to get my veggie seedlings in the ground, which was a bummer.View Thread
We bid on and won a teacher event at the school's annual fund gala. Levi and two of his friends are going to a White Sox game tonight with their assistant teacher then all of the boys are coming over to our house for a sleepover. I'm going to assume the boys will be zonked by the time they get our place. Levi woke at 5:30 this morning because he was so excited.View Thread
No, Levi wouldn't let us. I seriously want to pull out his top front teeth. They are barely hanging in and his adult teeth have broken through. He has an cleaning in two weeks if they are still there I'm having the dentist pull them.View Thread
Yes, fortunately we were out of the restaurant area, which is carpeted. We are slightly concerned about the headaches and was glad that he threw up later without one. DH started to get migraine like headaches with vomiting at Levi's age and as he grew they became full blown migraines with vomiting and at times with aphasia, which is when you lose the ability to speak, read or write. Pretty scary stuff. Fortunately, the last time DH had such a migraine he was in his late 20s and probably in his late 30s/early 40s that he stopped getting them altogether.View Thread
