I fail to understand why anyone would use them even as a working mom. It isn't all that hard or time consuming to pull your own salad together. It is a lot healthier. It seems like every other week they are being recalled. No thanks.View Thread
We have a very steep set for the upstairs and a even steeper set that leads to our unfinished basement. Levi has only taken one spill down our stairs when he was around 5. He was being silly and I was right behind him. He started head over heels but got into a side roll. I was going to help him but once he got into the side roll I figure it was safer for him to stop on his own. He was fine but learned new respect. We never had gates on our stairs. Levi was taught by our first nanny how to climb them and go down them safely before he could even walk. He was like 6 months old when he could climb all the way up them and about 8 months old when was able to scoot down them.
He wasn't allowed to go down our basement stairs until he was about 3 yrs and then with one of us holding his hands. As it is he can't go down there without as it is an unfinished basement used for storage so he has no business being down there.
With our renovations, we completely replaced our stairs and toyed with the idea of not carpeting them but that makes me nervous more for my safety rather than the boy's. So they will be carpeted.View Thread
I think that if you pay attention all of what moms should and should not do that is reported in the media, you will drive yourself insane. Focus on raising your own child to your best ability and not worry about these fearmongering media driven studies.View Thread
Levi has an aluminum SIGG water bottle with a BPA free liner. Now SIGG doesn't warrant that its liners are 100% BPA free because of the prevalence of BPA in the environment there is always a chance of BPA contamination in the products they use to make their BPA free liner. From a chemical leaching perspective, glass is the safest material.View Thread
