Work is crazy and I'm hoping to get some breaks this summer. DS will continue at preschool and we'll take a few long weekends and head to Cape Cod, Mass. My dad is retiring in May, so I anticipate DS will spend some quality time with 'Poppy'.
Right now, it's all about September. We're doing Disney and the Disney Cruise. I've got a countdown app on my iPad. Not sure how I'm going to wait 6 months.View Thread
Similar story here. We were expecting 6-12 inches and got almost 2 feet on Friday. Then Saturday and Sunday were gorgeous - melted almost a foot already. But it was great snow for snowmen and snowball fights. They were headed out during preschool today, too - DS should be exhausted by the time I pick him up!
But I'm done with the snow...bring on spring!View Thread
We try to do dinner most every night. DH is home at 6:30 on Monday and Tuesday and 5:30 every other night. I've generally got dinner on the table when he walks through the door and have learned to love my crock pot and casseroles. We're not at the point yet where we're trying to balance activities and family time.View Thread
There was a lot of debate about the governor issuing a travel ban here, but I think it was the right decision. We had about 25 inches and with so much falling in such a short period of time, there would have been a lot more issues like the ones in New York without the ban. With people off the roads, it left them free for the plows and first responders. Most of the roads are now at least passable, but a lot that were 2 or 3 lanes are down to 1, so traffic has been a nightmare. At least DS is having fun playing in the stuff! And just happy we didn't lose power again. We had the generator set up just in case..glad it went unused.View Thread
We're about at the 2 foot mark now and it's still coming downl Luckily, we still have power. Snow is light and fluffy, so that's helping us out. Those closer to the ocean aren't quite as lucky. DS and I are planning a Super Mario Kart tournament for later today, since the Governor's ban on driving is still in effect.View Thread
So far, so good. Today was the first day and drop off was a breeze. His teacher got him settled in as soon as we got there. I stayed for a few mintues, told him I was leaving and got a simple 'bye Mommy'.
Just called to check up halfway through the day and they said he's doing great. He's participating and having fun. Hopefully today will be a good experience and he won't mind going back tomorrow!View Thread
