I've never heard of it either but then again I have little girls with the oldest only 4. While it's a brilliant idea to keep the noise level down, it sounds like the kids won't be interacting with each other too much. Unless there's a way to challenge one another in this game?!? Maybe it's different with 7 year old boys but I like the loudness of my daughter's party b/c it means she's playing/socializing with her friends and having a good time. Just my opinion. I hope he has a good time! View Thread
No plans yet. Just last weekend we did an overnight trip to Baltimore with the kids. They have this awesome kids museum called Port Discovery Children's Museum, where everything is hands on play and it's geared towards kids 1-12 yrs old so there's something for everyone. My youngest is 16 months and she had a great time! That was our only plans so far this year.
For Easter, my husband's family is coming to visit. We haven't seen his sister's family since Thanksgiving, so it will be great to see them again. She's pregnant with the first grandson. Since they live in NC, we'll probably make a trip there some time after the baby is born in June.
MIOB: Let me know if you have any pointers for planning a Disney trip with a preschooler. We're looking into going next year sometime before DD#1 starts school.View Thread
Call me crazy but we've had such mild winters that I'm ready for a good snow storm. Last Wednesday we were suppose to get 4-6 inches by 3pm with ice so in the morning all the schools cancelled and even our daycare closed. Turns out our area got 1 inch that melted by 1pm. Both DH and I worked from home since the offices we work at were still opened and we didn't want to use a vacation day. It made for a long hard day...not sure how people work from home with kids all the time! Anyway, not this year anymore but maybe next year it would be nice to get an actual snow storm. Poor DD hardly had any snow to go sledding in this year, it was always 1-2 inches and then melted by the evening or next day.
We did have nice sunny, warm weather this weekend and it was absolutely lovely. The girls got to play outside, we did a little yard work and we got to take our dog for a few walks. I'm definitely in the mood for spring now.View Thread
Well my kids are both in daycare so we don't technically have a spring break. The center is closed this Friday for a teacher inservice day, so we are going away for one night and hitting up an aquarium and children's museum. Then they are closed again Good Friday and the Monday after Easter. My in-laws are considering coming for the weekend and then my mom will watch the kids on Monday. No real vacation plans but a nice change of pace. I don't think we'll take a real vacation until we plan our trip to Disney.View Thread
That's great! My confidence with reading aloud or presenting in front of a group is not very good...maybe that's why I choose to be an accountant. After graduating, I actually considered going back for my teaching degree but then realized I'd have to teach either high school or college if I wanted to teach business/accounting. Very scary thought so I've never gone back.
My 4 yr old is very out spoken at home, loves resighting stories to us and even "reads" books to her baby sister, so I'm hoping she gets my husbands outgoing personality. However, she can be very shy when we see friends we know outside of our house or her daycare.View Thread
I agree. My kids eat less at dinner if they've had a big snack or a snack too close to dinner. On nights when I know DD had a snack close to dinner, I don't make her finish her meal but I also remind her that she won't be getting a snack later. Sometimes I save her dinner for when she asks for something later or I give her a healthy snack later. Fortunately, most nights we don't have a problem getting our 25 lb, 16 month old to eat...she loves food! View Thread
Since they tested for a bunch of stuff, I'm going to say he either has an overactive bladder or he's to excited to go back to playing that he's not finishing. For a few times, sit with him and make sure he's done.View Thread
