Brrrr..... It's cold here in St. Louis! Our high today is 0, and windchills are terrible.
We are currently on our 3rd snow day. So, the kids have been out of school since Dec 19. I'm struggling with some house-a-tosis. Emily ended up with double pneumonia (again), so we haven't had a very good winter break. I have to admit, I was ready for school to be back in. And while I'm venting, can I just say how hard 2 year olds can be? I mean, I remember it being rough, but we are having a really bad day here. 2 hours until naptime and counting.....
So, if anyone is even here, how is your day going?View Thread
We just got back from a cruise on Saturday, and it was quite a shock! It was kind of brutal leaving 80 degree weather, and coming home to 8 degree weather. Schools were canceled here on Friday. (It worked well, so the girls only missed 4 days of school.)
The airport was a complete mess on Saturday with people trying to rebook their canceled flights and missed connections.
As for me, I'm just trying to dig out from the mountains of laundry we now have.....View Thread
I'm not sure what to do in this case, and I don't want to come across like a total B#$@!.
As I have mentioned, we are in the process of adopting a little girl. Well, a WHOLE lot more people know of the mother/situation than I realized. The little girl looks A LOT like her birth mother. However, I'm tired of getting this comment, "She sure does look like her mother."
The response I want to give is: "You think so? I don't think she looks anything like me."
Hence my concern of sounding like a B. How would you take that response? Can you think of anything more polite I can say, yet still get my point across?
We will be open with her about the fact she is adopted. However, I don't want strangers/acquaintances/whomever reminding her of this fact. I know a year from now she won't even remember her birth mom. I would be highly surprised if she did now.
One of DD's teeth did that, too. The back tooth was in before the front one was gone. We were able to pull the baby tooth, though. The back tooth did slide up into place, and looks fine now. Well, as "fine" as her other teeth look -- the dentist has told us to start saving for braces.View Thread
