We've had our roof replaced, as well as had other repairs made twice due to hail, and our premium has never gone up. It probably is dependent on the carrier, but that's how it worked for us. We had $30K worth of damage both times. I hate hail storms. They give me anxiety. View Thread
Here's the thing, and I suspect that PP would agree... when you have a child with delays (as I do as well), you can't judge when they should be ready for something based on when other kids are ready. It stinks, but it's just the way it is. Honestly, it sounds like your little guy just isn't ready for it. And as for how other people say you "should" do it? No way. Don't listen to them - just do it how it works for you, because your situation with having a child with delays makes it different. Sometimes as a parent, you have to take control of the situation to teach them how to control it themselves, KWIM?
FWIW, candy treats worked really well for my son. I think the trick is to find what motivates your son, and go from there. But if he's not ready, it's just not going to work.View Thread
This is kind of a touchy subject in our house right now... for whatever reason, lately, my 5 yo has been getting only 8-9 hours of sleep a night recently. He goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:15 most nights, and falls asleep quickly. He is up anywhere between 4 and 5 every morning (even on weekends - it's awful), and won't nap at school most days. He is tired all day long - we actually have a sleep study scheduled for Monday night to see if we can figure out what's going on. If nothing shows up with that, he's seeing a sleep psychologist at the end of the month.
We've been working with the pediatrician for a couple of months, but this has been going on for about 6 months, so...View Thread
No plans here, other than building at Lowes tomorrow morning. DS has been having a really hard time sleeping, so we are trying a new routine, along with some pediatrician-recommended melatonin to see if we can get him back on track (an almost 6-year old in all-day kindergarten shouldn't be waking up for the day at 4am, lol!). So I think we'll just have a low-key weekend to adjust a little bit.View Thread
haha, Steph - that's what Stephen wants to watch too! He LOVED watching the qualifiers, and now wants to swim the butterfly - which is great in theory, but his swim class is still working on freestyle... I love the Olympics!View Thread
