jlcohen78 posted: I'm bored and my bff delivered her 2nd son last night so this got me thinking! For your most RECENT birth:
How many weeks/days were you at delivery? 40
C-section v. Vaginal: c section
Midwife or doctor: doctor
Induction or on your own: own my own, but was scheduled for induction at 5 am the day after my water broke
Membrane rupture - on your own or with help: on my own
Pain relieving meds - which ones: had a epidural after the contractions started getting really bad!
Afterbirth - private room or roommate: private
How long did you labor at home: not even 20 minutes.
How long did you labor in the hospital: mayb 6.5 hours
How long for pushing: n/a
How long after your water broke did you deliver: 7 hrs 14 minutes....had c section
Did things go the way you wanted? yes, except for the part where the nurses were rushing in an out checking monitors and coming in with more surgical attire on and not saying a word to me (his heart rate dropped out and he was in distress)....o ya, and being on all fours in front of my mom, cousin and boyfriend wasnt that glamorus either! LOL
Anything else? People can be so anti-c section but if I hadn't had one, who would know if he'd even be here today without it. I was so scared about the "traditional" birthing methods and afarid I'd be pushing for hours and hours and something go wrong. JMO but I'm happy things went how they did.View Thread
My son is 11 months old today. He babbles a lot and we "think" his first word was bye bye and again we "think" he said Dada but he hasnt said either one in a week or more. I speak to him like I would anyone and don't use "baby talk" much, I can ask him a question like "Brayden, are you hungry?" "Do you want to go outside?" or "Do you want to go nite nite?" and he will shake his head yes or no accordingly. He's always got his hands in his mouth and if he finds his pacifier, he puts it in his own mouth. He yells, and makes lots of other noises all the time, just no words on a consistent basis. SHould i be worried? He seems to understand SOOOOO much. How can I encourage talking more? We have tons of books with pictures, shapes and so forth that we use every day. He is a very social baby and loves people to talk to him. He imitates sticking his tounge out (LOL), making a pouty lip and even hold things up to his ear like a phone when you say "hello". How can I help him communicate with words better? TIA! AngieView Thread
My 9 month old has been grinding his teeth. he has the top front 2 teeth and the bottom two front teeth and he grinds them A LOT and its like nails on a chalkboard to me! Other than a pacifier, what can i do to get him to STOP! As soon as he does it we tell him no and give him a pacifer to chew on. A girl I know told me her daughter did it so much (in her sleep and during the day) that ultimately they had to have her top teeth removed from the damage (the lil girl was 3 when they removed her teeth). YIKES! He hates teethers and doesnt put any toys or anything in his mouth. TIA!!View Thread
