WebMD will be covering President Obama's State of the Union address closely on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 9 p.m. ET, and the Republican response afterwards as it regards that state of health care in our country. We will also be live-tweeting during both events, and we hope you'll follow us on Twitter and search for #wbmdsotu to join in the conversation.
As part of the event, we'll be gathering member questions about health care reform both before and after the president's address and will present those questions to Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, in a roundtable panel on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 4:30 p.m. ET. We invite you to submit your questions (http://blogs.webmd.com/breaking-news/2011/01/ask-your-health-care-reform-questions.html ), and then join us in the live event on Thursday (whitehouse.gov/live) to see how they were addressed.
Hi Troy - Having a child crying in school is very upsetting...thank you for posting.
Has your daughter had a comprehensive physical exam since school started? I would start with a dialogue with her doctor.
Is she with one teacher the majority of the day? (My elementary school daughter is in her home classroom most of the time) Have you spoken with her teacher? A meeting about the classroom dynamic and the observations of an adult who is with her in school might be very helpful.
It's Thursday! Hope your week has been happy and healthy. The WebMD Parenting Guest Expert Tanya Altmann, MD, FAAP has posted "5 Steps for Healthier Eating ". I particularly like her observation: "As a parent, it's up to you to be the role model of healthy habits for your family. I rarely see a child who has a healthier diet than his parents." Sooooo...I'm going to pass up that gigantic chocolate chip muffin that I want for breakfast right now! (brought home by the husband) I've found that information I read across WebMD reminds me to make healthy choices throughout the day for myself and my family. As a busy parent, I need all the reminders I can get. Feedback is always appreciated! Now go drink some water (step #1)!
