I agree times have changed and some student work has become more difficult. Some work is less stressful and has no take home work allowing you to relax after, but what kind of job is that? Minimum wage burger flipping? It's all just practice for the real world. Take your sons teachers for example, they are stressed at work trying to give their students all they can and then they go home to grading, contacting parents, looking on line for inspiring lesson ideas, stressing about some of their students' terrible home life, stressing about the students who get no home support, and planning for the next day....And somewhere they fit in time to deal with their own family activities and their kid's H.W. My husband is an architect and spends a full day at work and then comes home to finish drawings he couldn't get done because of site visits and client phone calls. It's all just practice for the real world. I have a 1 and 2 year old and I get stressed with what is to come when they start school and sports. I already can't get any of my take home work done until they go to bed. Good luck to you and your son. I hope he gets into a great college with all his hard work!View Thread
It's very ok. It's all part of their body exploring. Girls will also do it....and masterbate when they are young. They are exploring their bodies and sometimes (as we all know) it just feels good. The most important part is not to yell or make them feel bad about it. Do your best to help them understand that it should only be done at home and not in front others. You can call it "private time." It is a part of growing up whether it happens at 3 or 10. Good luck!!View Thread
I think you should continue to feed him when he is hungry. He could be going through a growth spurt. My little guy is the same way. Every evening starting around 5:30 (after his 3.5oz) he is a nonstop eater. We joke that he has a hollow leg! I end up feeding him about 2oz every 1/2 hour after his regular feeding. It doesn't help to give him more at his feeding because he won't finish it. He wants it all spread out. He'll stay up and then finally after 1 of his feedings around 7:30, he ends up falling asleep around 8. This has been going on for a little more than a week, but I am now noticing a benefit from it. He is now sleeping through the night! It stinks to be constantly feeding him, but he ends up sleeping from 8pm to 5am. Might be incredibly different from other babies, but who said they are all suppose to be the same. Whatever works for him is what my concern is. And in this case, it also works for me!!View Thread
