It was set up to help all kids be on a more level playing field and stop some of the bullying.
The community was really divided over it. Most of the kids hated losing the right to dress up in the latest trends.
How do you feel about school uniforms? Do they serve any real purpose?

Sendak was known for writing one of the most-read children's stories of all-time, Where the Wild Things Are,
He also wrote, Little Bear, In the Night Kitchen, Higglety Pigglety Pop, Alligators All Around, and more.
Do you or your kids have a favorite Maurice Sendak book?

The person should be a non-finance professional (retired is okay) who manages his or her retirement savings in a portfolio account that is exposed to fluctuations in the stock market. We are looking for someone who monitors his portfolio quite often, because he is concerned about how the volatility in the stock market could adversely affect his savings.
If you think the above reflects your situation and you would like to learn more, please write to communitymanagement@webmd.net and provide a little information about your situation, along with the best way to contact you.

What does this all mean?
Those sunscreen products that pass the FDA's test for protection against both ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays will be labeled as "Broad Spectrum". Only products labeled as "Broad Spectrum" with 15 SPF or higher will now be able to state on their labels that they reduce the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging, when used as directed. Products not in this range will require a warning label stating that the product has NOT been shown to prevent skin cancer or early skin aging.
Will these new regulations affect which sunscreens you purchase for your family?
What types of sunscreen do you have in your house right now? UVA, UVB, both, which SPF?
What questions would you ask the FDA about sunscreen use or these regulations?
WebMD will present our members' questions to an FDA panel today at 2 p.m.View Thread

Our son is 13, and my husband thinks we should trust him to be at home alone when we take short trips. For instance, we had to pick up my older daughter at the airport two hours away from our house this past Saturday. The boy wanted to stay at home rather than take the boring car ride, and I put my foot down that 2 hours away is too far unless he's actively staying with someone, like a neighbor.
To Dr. Altmann's point, I just think that too many things could happen in that 4-hour time span, and we wouldn't be able to get home quickly.
Naturally, my husband thinks I am being over-protective. But, I think that we often leave him alone when we go out to eat or run short errands, and this gives him an opportunity to show us how responsible he can be. Just want to work up to leaving him longer.

Now, at 19, my older daughter has topped out at 5'9", and my younger daughter, 17, is an inch taller than me at 5'5".
The funny thing is that my older daughter was the shortest girl in her middle school class. And, my younger daughter always seemed to be taller than her classmates.
So, Dr. Alvarez was very much right about my older daughter being taller. Now we just have to see where my son falls in the mix.
My husband didn't quite make the calculations of his pediatrician or height predictors. His dad was 6' and his mom was 5'2', and he is 6'2". Taller than his dad, but two inches shorter than his 6'4" paternal grandfather.
Like his sister, my son is also one of the shorter boys in his middle school class. He's very much hoping he'll be as tall as his dad. Only time will tell.

Let's have some fun. Here is WebMD's Kids' Height Predictor . Use Dr. Ademan's formula above and the predictor and see what height each one says your kid will be as an adult.
Which one do you think might be closer? What height would you LIKE your kids to be ideally?
