My Story:
Mother to six children in a blended family (ala Brady Bunch--a 3/3 split)

Three have flown the nest as young adults. The other three busy themselves with high school and negotiating middle school. It seems like they have hundreds of activities (not really, but one or two activities times 3 kids = a lot of car time)

My parenting philosophy: Each child is an individual and you need to parent knowing that. What works with one, won't necessarily work for another. Even if it does...that doesn't mean it works for another family.

The rest of it: try to relax and not worry too much that you ruin the children for life if you do something wrong. (also, don't talk to a young teen girl when she starts using that warning never ends well for anyone--wait until you both chill)
