Hi, I am 55 years old and have noticed some symptoms of possible PD. My father, uncle and one Aunt had the disease. I am looking for some input. My symptoms are as follows:
1. Slight tremors- in left hand, seems to be when I write. 2. Handwriting- is getting worse and smaller. 3. Thrashing legs- as my pajama pants up to knees in morning. 4. Stiffness- I seem to be achy and stiff. 5 .Softer voice- People tell me they cannot hear me. Symptoms 1 2 4 & 5 have been with me for 2-3 years. Symptom 3 just started.
I eat well and exercise and try to take good care of myself. I have a good positive attitude. I know stress can trigger diseases. I have had allot of it. My son died 13 years ago. I was divorced 10 years ago and my step son dies 3 months ago. I am suffering from depression and have lost weight.
Could I have PD? Should I see a doctor? If so who a neurologist? View Thread
Thank you for your reply. I am new to any of this other that what I remember about my father who has passed. I have some other symptoms I forgot to mention. My left foot seems to not work well sometimes. I am fatigued and sometimes I have a hard time swallowing my vitamins. All of my symptoms seem slight but because many of them match what could be PD it is a little scary.
You mentioned a neurologist, preferably one who is a specialist in movement disorders. What is the best way to find a good doctor? View Thread
