I had a follow-up email with my neurologist and would appreciate your input to the previous post above. I wroteL
It is the symptoms I describe to you that can't be seen that I want to know which disease it is. For example, no one sees a headache but they can deduce what it may be and that is what I need clarification on with all oft symptoms. Can you do that?
Here's my neurologists response to our conversation:
Your tremor condition is most consistent with a postural tremor and is therefore most resembles "benign essential tremor." I do think that it could relate to the cervical spine disc protrusion. I do not see evidence of Parkinson's disease or atypical parkinsonism (PSP, MSA (aka Shy Drager), OPCA, or Pure autonomic failure. I do not have concerns that your tremor disorder will affect your life expectancy.
I continue to believe that your condition may improve in time.
Dr. Stacey, could my condition improve even though I feel my tremor when laying down on my side, in my pants pockets when standing and when arms are folded? Aren't these rest tremors? He still thinks these tremors are related to my discs - I would truly appreciate your input with all of your expertise.
Thank youView Thread

I met with the neurologist who thinks that this is still a postural tremor even though he didn't ask to see it in the positions I experience it in - lying down or arms folded. I showed him that my hands shake when they are in my pants pockets and he still considers this postural tremor. He says that postural tremors in specific positions even when laying down can be considered postural. Is this correct? I am having a EMG test end of September.View Thread

If you have a moment, could you please answer my question above?
Thank you for your time.View Thread

Thank you for your response. I am already with a neurologist that specializes in Movement Disorders and have an appt for end of August. When I saw him in May and the subsequent conversations between my husband and him and he states that this isn't Parkinsons, MS, ALS, etc.
From our correspondence above in all the previous posts, you made it sound like I don't have Parkinsons or any other Parkinsonian syndrome, so when your post said that to have a DatScan to convince you that I didn't have PD was a change and I wasn't sure that you had changed your thoughts from not PD to PD, so I am sure you could understand my confusion. I am sorry if I offended you in any way, I just wanted you to clarify as I thought it may be an error in typing. Anyone in my position has many questions especially when you are young with a young children involved and reassurance is helpful along with information. Anything you would like to answer like the test you had me do for finger movement to test for rest tremor as asked above or have additional thoughts would be appreciated.
Best regards,View Thread

I apologize about the repeated posts above - I was sending it from my cell phone and didn't see that it went to a second page and thought that my email through the phone was working.
I did move my fingers when my wrists were under my pillow and other positions and the tremor did keep going, so what is that tremor called? Is this disease?
Thank you and, again, I am sorry for the emails above as the second page didn't appear on my cell phone screen.View Thread

My previous email asked about your Datscan statement - is it to convince me that I don't have Parkinsons's or that you think I have it and need the test to prove otherwise?
With the "rapid progression" from your previous email, you don't think this could be disease or any Parkinsonian syndrome?
Thank you.View Thread

Thank you for all your tIme.View Thread
