Hi, I will definately try holding my breath. Thus far my neurologist has not made a diagnoses. But I am conviced that I have PLMS.
What works for me is touching my face. The toe movements and distortions in my legs stop immediately and i have relieve for a while. It doesn't work when touching any other part of the body. So of course trying to sleep on your back is out. As soon as I lie on my side and my face touches the pillow, I have a bit of relieve.
Please ask your patient to try it for some relieve and let me know. I am very new to this syndrome, and in South Africa there doen't seem to be much support on this.
I am on using to types of Parkinsons medication as a trial, but no success so far. I feel exhausted most of the time but when trying to take a nap, well you know... just no rest.
For me it feels as if my brain is running extra circuits, unneccessarily, and it is tryring my muscles and whole body. My legs and feet as aching in the morning, but I force myself to get on my bicycle and go to gym for some excersise. I will not let this debilitate my life.View Thread
