You absolutely did the right thing. Your poor Cooper had no quality of life at that point and the most humane thing you could do was to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge. I'll soon be facing that with my 14 yr. old Golden Retriever and went through it with my mom and her 14 yr. old Boxer. Please know that he is in a better place and in no more pain.View Thread
My 14 yr. old golden retriever has a growth hanging off the inside of her ear and completely covered by her ear. I clean it each night with a soap from the vet but since she is older and has other issues they cannot use anestesia to remove it so I just have to keep it as clean as possible and trim the hair around it. Since it is a constant open would that will scab, it will come off, scab again etc. I won't even go into the smell. Is there something I can attempt to put on it that won't stick to the wound but maybe give it more of a chance to heal? She's pretty good about not scratching at it too much but when she does she either gets it bleeding or scratches off the scab. It's probably the size of 2 large marbles put together so it's sizeable. Any advice would be appreciated!View Thread
