I have a 2 year old liver dalmatian who for the last 4 months has had bumps all over her back. She is not itchy, she actually doesnt like you to scratch them. They started as bumps, ooze a little and became scabs and he hair is falling out where the bumps were. Some are healing, others are still there. They are only on her back, no belly or face. My parents previous dalmatian had the same bumps, and the vet said they were similar to acne and will heal themselves. I took my dal to the vet and he put her on a strong anti biotic and a series of benedryl. I did that for a week with no improvement. It's now been 3 months later and she is still bumpy. I wash her with baby shampoo, which i have since she was a baby, so i dont feel like it's an allergic reaction to that. I do not feed her human food and she has had the same kibble since she was a baby, so i dont think its the food either. Any ideas? By the way, she does not have fleas.View Thread
I have a 2 year old dalmatian who about a year ago started chewing my parents furniture. It started when i went on a cruise for 2 weeks and left her with a dog sitter at my parents house with 2 older dalmatians. The older ones would sleep all day and she started to chew the furniture. I bought some bitter yuck spray and sprayed the area and put her nose in the hole she chewed in the couch and scolded her. She continued to chew the couch while i was at work even with the bitter yuck sprayed on the chewed area. The behavior stopped for a while and I thought she grew out of it. She however started it up again and now my parents have new furniture i really dont want her to ruin. She has lots of bones and toys to chew, but for some reason she wants the couch. Any ideas?View Thread
I have a dalmatian a little over a year old and last week she hurt her neck somehow. Either jumping, chasing bubbles or just being a crazy puppy, im not sure how she did it. I have tried to have her rest as much as possible but it doesnt seem to be getting any better. Any ideas on how i can help her neck heal?View Thread
she hasnt been on any antiinflammatories, but she is on medication to help her leaky sphincter. I have a vet apt on wednesday. she has lots of energy and is eating and pooping normally, but her neck pain has me worried. It seems to be bad in the morning, as if it was sore from being stiff all night.View Thread
