Give her plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Sounds like she's getting better, so as long as she's not dehydrated or acting lethargic I don't think it's necessary to take her to the vet. Of course you could always just call the vet and see what they suggest.View Thread

A little trick we've used before is to fill a bowl with water and add dawn, then set it in the floor with a light shining on it. The fleas will jump right in and drown. They're attracted to the light. Also try K9 Advantix on your dog. I believe it kills fleas in all stages such as eggs and larvae.View Thread

My dog likes to eat cat poop. I've heard that it's because something is probably missing in their diet, like iron or protein. Make sure you feed your dog high quality/high protein food.View Thread

Try leaving the new kitty inside a crate/carrier for the first couple of days, or in a separate room. Let your cat sniff around and get used to her scent before mixing them. It's been my experience that even if cats don't get along at first they will eventually get used to one another, but there are things you can do to make it easier. Let us know how it's going

Thanks for the advice. We used to put her in a crate but she always escapes, and I was afraid she would hurt herself doing so, so we stopped using that option. She does have her own bed. I have thought about putting something on the couch that will make a noise when she jumps up (my dad used to use mousetraps covered with newspaper for his dog!) but I haven't tried anything like that yet. I will look into it. Thanks again.View Thread

I know how you feel. I have a dog that also stays in the house by herself for about 9 hours a day 4 days a week. Sometimes I feel guilty because I know that ideally you shouldn't leave your pet for more than 4-6 hours. It's good that you go visit him on your lunch break. Another good tip is to maybe leave the radio on for him, something soothing like classical music. It can help with separation anxiety. And always make sure you leave out plenty of water.View Thread

My 5-year old husky/lab mix has started getting on our couches when we are not home. She gets hair everywhere since she sheds a lot. She never does it when we are home, and we never invite her onto the couch. How can I train her not to get on the couches when I'm not there when she does it?View Thread
