There are a lot of countries that require the Rabies vaccine to be given before travel and after a microchip. This has to do with identification as well as protection. Some countries do not have rabies at all and would like to keep it that way. Unless your dog has had reactions to the rabies vaccine before, It should not be a problem at all. Unfortunately, raw skin is prone to infection. She will most likely need to see a veterinarian. Otherwise keep the area dry and keep her from scratching and licking it. You may need to get an e-collar from your vet or pet store.View Thread
