I don't know where to begin with the most precious adorable loving kitty in the world. He is a gray and white Persian, 4 months old.
About 1.5 months ago, I noticed that my most active playful kitty who could jump before he could walk...would only lay down and play.
I didn't take notice of it for a week or so, just thought that he strangely didn't like to scale furniture and walls to get his bird toys I flung around.
I then began to notice that he was dropping stool pellets around my home outside of the litterbox.
I took him to the vet whot thought he might have had some type of sprange and she gave him a pain shot and 10 days of predisone.
He only coward when he received the Predisone and never jumped around while on it, leading me to believe that his lameness was not a sign of an injury.
He became totally constipated and I took him to the vet 3.5 weeks after his lameness began again. They took blood and urine samples and three sets of x-rays. They found he was completely constipated and had impacted anal glands which they relieved to find gross black stuff in them.
They gave him an imflammation shot, liquids, and an enema and said hhe was most likely lame from constipation.
All of his blood/urine came back normal. He was put on a wet diet to increase his electrolytes.
He still is lame though. He appears to be normal in all other aspects.
I had my breeder take the cat and she said her vet stated he was easily frightened and stressed.
But he never showed those types of signs at my home, a very loving kitty and playful at that.
Today, I've looked at so many websites trying to figure out what may be wrong.
He shows no signs of fractures in his xrays.
His only sympton is that he has a low gait, he can not climb less than 2 feet high, he can not utilize his legs to play like most cats, and he drags his legs upstairs, and he often lays down if he runs for a few seconds.
Please what does anyone think it can be.
He hasn't progressively gotten worse like most neurological disease would state would happen if it was some type of myopethay.
he isn't eating litter at all. because I read that somewhere.
