Response to Judith Leah,I,too have a 24lb. 9yr old male Shih Tzu,love of my life.He began having these screaming, peeing on himself episodes about yr&1/2 ago.Arter the 2nd one(he has had 4)I took him to vet,we didn't have enough info,so conclusion was nightmares,I,of course was relieved.Last Fri(11/9/12)he went for his teeth cleaning&had a Grandmal seizure, stopped breathing, stiffened, pooped&peeded.Thank God he was there,as they had just begun with 1st part of sedation&had all the equipment to help him.He was there 8hrs,had all kinds of tests,it didn't cost me a penny as I have Banfield($50 a mnth).I,too am on a fixed income..but,its in my budget. Now,all we can do is watch him&if he has another one bring him in,seizure meds...we'll see.He also has developed a heart murmer, waiting to see if this stress caused it&possibly goes away.If not, heart meds. All I know is I will do anything& everything to help him&only consider putting down....I don't even want to think about that.Anyway,I'm here feel free to acess me&best wishes.View Thread
