I also have the excat problem with my black lab .she is 3 yrs old and she does the same thing with licking and shallowing a lot and licking everything she could . She does it every so often like a couple of days to a couple of weeks . Last year she did the same thing but with coughing took her to the vet and they said that she had kennel cough. So I know this time she is not coughing just the licking. I have read that' it might be that she has something in her throat like maybe from chewing on a stuffed toy like eating the cotton in it or strings. I am hoping that she gets over it and don't want to have to take her to the vet and they find nothing wrong and have to pay. Good luck with your dog.View Thread
