My dogs name is Chewy and she llllooovvvveees to chew things. She is a terrier mix. The thing that she loves the most is her tennis ball. She is totally OCD over it. She wants us to throw the ball CONSTANTLY!!!!! Sometimes she likes to play a game where she will sit by her ball, when you bend over to pick it up she will grab it and run off, wanting you to chase her. She will trot along just out of your reach. Its like she is saying "Old woman, you can't catch me", and she is right.
She talks to us too. When she wants our attentions she will make this cute noise, its not quite a howl and not quite a growl, its like "wwooooooooo, wwoooo".
Sometimes she acts like a cat. She will crouch down and then pounce on her ball like a cat pounces on a mouse. I blow bubbles for her and not only will she jump up and bite the bubbles, she will try to get the ones on the ground with her paws. Looks just like a cat when she does it.
My Terrier Chewy is a big time kisser, or should I say licker. She puts her daddy to bed by standing on his chest, holding him down and covering his face will licks. In the morning when I start to stir, she will jump on my checks and start licking my face. I keep my lips clamped shut though. lol. She sticks her tongue up my nose every now and then. oohhh yuck. We give our little doggy kisses on top of her head. I kiss her on her cheeks, her ears and will hold up one of her paws and kiss the top of it.View Thread
I wish I had an answer to your situation. I just want to say that Im sorry about your fur baby. What a horrible situation to be in, not knowing what to do. If it were my dog I would take her to the vets, but a different vet. Dont take her to the one who did the surgery. Call and have them transfer the records over to the other vets office. Im not trying to say that your vet. did anything wrong, but sometimes it helps to have a second Dr. give his diagnosis.
I have lost pets before and I know the fear that your going through. Take care.View Thread
Your vet should be able to tell you how much your pet should weigh. You can usually tell if your dog is over weight or under weight just by looking at him.
Well, chocolate is very bad for dogs but if it was three weeks ago then I dont think thats the problem. Have you been feeding her ppl food of any kind?? Ppl food is a big no no. They cant digest our food like they digest dog food.Could he have gotten into the garbage?
Also, it doesnt matter if the animal welfare league is upset, its their job. This is your fur baby and your worried about him, so if you want to talk to the animal welfare league then dont let their attitude stop you.
One more thing. You can remove your dogs food a few days and replace it with stage one, meat baby food. In those small bottles. Turkey or Chicken would be good. But dont feed him over a bottle a day. Just a few spoon every few hours. The baby food is gentle on their tummies. Thats what we do when our dog has an upset tummy.
I noticed that my dog had been sneezing quite a bit and I just thought she had allergies. My husband jokingly said "she must be allergic to you because she only sneezes when your around". I went to pet her last night and as my hand got close to her, she sneezed. So I did it a few times and she sneezed each time. Thats when it hit me. She was allergic to me, she was allergic to my perfume. The perfume that I put on my wrist. Poor little darling. So I switched perfumes. (that perfume was very expensive too.) lol. Hopefully the perfume Im using now wont bother her.View Thread
LOL I had posted all of these pics on the Bipolar board and they cant see them there either. I cant remember how I posted Chewy's pic last year. Her pic from last year is in the 2010 slide show. hhhmmm. Is there an address that I can send an email to with the pic. attached?View Thread
Hello everyone, I have had my dog for a year now and she has always been a bit sensitive, but not too bad. But every now and then, not often, just recently, when she sees my husband, she will tuck her tail and go under the bed. We have no idea why she does this. She adores my husband and he spoils her rotten. She has also done this with me as well. She even started shaking. We dont know what to do to help her understand that we arent going to hurt her or yell at her, which we have never done. We have tried picking her up, telling her she is a good girl, kissing her, giving her attention, but it doesnt work when she is scared. Does anyone have any idea as to what we can do? Also has anyone ever had their pets behave in such a way?
