It's a Chlorogenic Acid supplement derived from the coffee bean (don't worry - it's caffeine free), and since I started taking it my hair has completely stopped falling out, and my periods have RETURNED. As an added bonus - I've lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 months.
I really feel that this is a great product, and it has helped me tremendously.

My RE put me on Metformin when we were first ttc. I've been on it for about 2 years now. My regular OB said that after I have my twins, my symptoms might improve.View Thread
I have started taking Metformin again... no issues, I am currently unemployed. I have also added a regimine of other vitamins and hormones. Progesterone and Prometrium, and Flaxseed Oil as well as Magnesium. The Hormones, they are 100mg each ten days a month, then the Flaxseed Oil is 1200mgs a day, then the Magnesium is 1000mg a day. I have also had to take a mega dose of Vitamin D... that was a 10 day dose.
The vitamins were added by me, with the approval of my Drs. I researched the benefits of those vitamins and found that they can help improve my PCOS to help me get back on the track of healthy! The Magnesium will help me to break down the foods my PCOS (resistence to insulin) fails to do. The Flaxseed Oil will improve my HIGH Cholesterol (280 started in 2000, at 200 last year and we'll soon see what the new level is since I have been taking flaxseed oil the last 6/8 months). The Vitamin D Mega Dose was a prescription since my Vit. D level was 8 out of a very good 32. Yeah... I don't wanna die from anything and much less with help from a lack of Vit D.
So, now I see on WebMD that Flaxseed Oil is not good for PCOS patients to take... Why not? My "Specialists" haven't said not to, or have a sense of urgency about it. Can you tell me why PCOS patients shouldn't take Flaxseed Oil?View Thread
I'll probably get to stop taking it if my glucose levels are in the normal range after my babies are born, but I'll probably have to be re-tested for them to be sure.
The extended release of Metformin is usually better tolerated than the immediate release, but it made me sick for over a month, until my body got used to it. The nurse practitioner at my RE's office told me that eating simple carbs will make the digestive side effects worse. I had to change to brown bread and cut back on other simple carbs like white rice, bread, and potatoes. It helped me a lot.
I'm glad that you're so excited about getting started. I'm sending lots of baby dust your way!!!View Thread
If Femara doesn't work the next steps are IUI and IVF. I think they'd use injectibles for the IUI in conjunction with either the Femara or Clomid.
Good luck!View Thread
Since you had the periods for 3 week, the tiredness and dizziness will be because of the blood loss.
PCOD is a chronic problem you should find out a long lasting solution.
Natural/traditional medicines work wonders in such cases.Increase your fluid intake especially fruit juices.
Get well soon.View Thread
Just bought the Femara yesterday. $226.48 after calling around to pharmacies! There's a few more I need to call, but I don't think I'm going to get it much cheaper than that. I started it last night. Fingers crossed! We'll see how this goes...View Thread
Thanks for your response and good luck!View Thread
Talk to your doctor about your options. You don't want to go without having your cycle regulated or the tissue doesn't shed, but is building up.View Thread

I'm new here but i found out i had PCOS about three years ago. What you are experiencing is normal. Women experience a number of things like depression and a low libido, it is different for each woman. Nonetheless, you should consult your doctor about your hot flashes. I also struggled with the weight issue as well but you must lose the weight and change your diet in order to minimize the effects of PCOS.

So my exercise regimen is I work out three days for the week for about 30 mins because I am university student with little time but if you can workout everyday then do it, the more you exercise the better. I also take fish oil because it helps burn more calories when I exercise. Now for persons who have our condition you need to do a work that is more than 5 mins in length to get your heart rate up. So Jillian Michaels "Yoga meltdown" DVD and Zumba worked for me and I lost 7lbs in about 2 weeks. You can use this regimen or make up one that suits your lifestyle.
I also read this book for more information about the PCOS and how to deal with it:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0071499849/ref=oh_o00_s01_i01_details
This book also has a menu in the back which is useful when it comes to the diet. A low glyemic index diet is recommended for PCOS coupled with exercise( you shouldn't stop exercise regimen because you will gain weight again). The diet is really exciting and easy to make. I have a lot of allergies so i didn't quite follow it plus I live in the Trinidad and Tobago where the food is a lot different than the USA.
I did take metformin for a while but it made me sick so I stopped and kept with the diet and exercise. I am not trying for a baby yet because I am going to do my masters. I hope that all the information i have given is useful and hope it helps as it helped me. All the best and keep positive,

I was on Metformin on and off 4 times and kept having the same severe symptoms, dizziness and major GI effects. I received an email that talked about this as a replacement for Metformin with the same results along with other benefits. Wondering if this maybe a solution for me? I can not take brith control or anything with hormones in it due to multiple PE's after using the Nuva Ring about three years ago...and Metformin is now not an option either.View Thread
