Hi! I'm 16 and was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I was a soccer player up until last year (then work interferred) and was always active. I was never skinny but always bordelining on over weight, which my doctor thought was weird because I ran miles every day at soccer, have been a vegetarian since I was 7, and ate healthy. Then last year I gained 20 pounds. After I started noticing I was getting embarrasing excess hair on the face and back, missed periods, and acne, I complained to my doctor at my physical who suggested that I might have PCOS and sent me to a specialist at MassGeneral in Boston. After blood tests and a ultrasound, it was confirmed that I have PCOS and hypoglacimia, and my insulin levels came back weird so they are retesting that. She put me on spironalactone, acne medicine, and progesterone. She wanted to put me on birth control, but because of a blood clotting factor that I have she said its not worth the risk, even though I am willing to take it. I have been going to the gym and eating more fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I cant seem to lose weight though. The weight and the hair is what I hate most about having PCOS. Anyone have any tips on helping me lose weight and get rid of hair?View Thread
