Just checking back in here with one last update. Jenna is 18 days old today and still doing great. We had our two-week pediatrician appointment last Friday, and she had gained 12 ounces since we left the hospital. She is already growing into a cute, chubby baby
I stare at her constantly and sometimes just staring at her makes me cry. Thanks to everyone here for all the support along the way. It was such a long journey to get here -- from starting trying in April 2008, trying naturally for a year and a half, failing IVF's in December 2009 and March 2010, miscarriage after IVF in October 2010, failing another IVF in June 2011, and failing our final FET in October 2011....then moving on to a donor, and finally succeeding with our 5th dIUI in March 2012. And now, finally, holding baby Jenna in my arms

Our struggle will always be with me (once an infertile, always one), but it's wonderful to finally close that chapter of our lives and move forward with our baby girl. I wish the same for all of you, and everyone else still working to get to this board.

Baby Jenna was born on Friday, December 21, 2012, at 40 weeks 1 day. Because I was getting past my due date and had no signs of imminent labor, we decided to induce. We checked into the hospital at 8pm on Thursday night (the 20th), and I was monitored that night and given Cytotec to soften the cervix. In the morning I was about 2cm dilated. We started Pitocin at 8am Friday morning, my water broke at 9:30am, contractions came pretty fast after that. Around 11am I was at 4cm. I got an epidural around 12, and at 1pm I was 7cm. By about 2:30 I was fully dilated at 10cm, and started pushing at 3pm. She was born at 4:15!
We are home from the hospital and doing great. I am still having trouble believing she's really finally here, after we started trying in April 2008. What a long journey -- she's totally worth the wait. I'm in love

Happy holidays! Will update again soon.

I'm just stopping by quickly to say I'm still here, 38 weeks 4 days, still pregnant! I'm not sure that baby girl is ready to come out yet, because I don't feel any different, and can't really tell if she has dropped. I have been having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions though, so I hope my body is getting ready. I feel great, but am so excited to meet her.
I'll post when I have more news!View Thread

On the plus side, the babies are still looking good and we made it to December. They will not stop labor any more as of today and will not let me go past 12/28, so it won't be long before the babies are here and we can add a whole new world of craziness to our lives.
If there is anyone willing to take over the list, please let me know. I will try my best to be better, but with pending delivery it would be nice to have someone in place.
Thanks all for listening. Hope all is well with you.View Thread

I just found out I'm pregnant this last week after 16 months of TTC #2.
They drew a HCG level on wednesday and it was 26. That was the day before I even missed my period. The nurse said the level was low, but when I told her I hadn't even missed my period she said that the low level made sense, I'm just really early on. I'm really hoping and praying that everything will work out. I had an early m/c last year, so I'm praying for this one to stick - which I think it will.

September 2010 RE consult; need IVF
October 2010 through August 2011 cancelled cycles due to CMV
1st IVF September 2011-BFN
2nd IVF December 2011-BFP! TWINS!!
I had a complete previa that brought on the early delivery. At 20 weeks I had some bleeding and the previa was diagnosed. I had no more bleeding until week 28 where I had some light spotting, I would go to labor and delivery right way and they would monitor me when the light spotting happened. After about 4 days of that is when it took a turn for the worse and I started to hemorrhage. We were getting ready to do our 4D ultrasound when I went to use the restroom and bam, there was blood everywhere! So thankful we were already at the hospital. I ended up getting transferred to a larger hospital as we needed a more sophisticated NICU unit. We were able to keep them in utero for 10 days, knocking off 30 days in an isolate. They said each day the babies stay in it takes 3 days off their time in an isolate. My previa had gone from partial to complete and was told I actually should have been on best rest since the initial bleeding at 20 weeks, we were very lucky. Needless to say I do not have anything good to say about my original OB doctor. However, it turned out well for where we were transferred too. The night of June 25 I had my 3rd round of bleeding throught the 10 day stay and they decided to take the babies. I was so scared, I was all alone, my husband was working 2 hrs away I called him and he just made it in time fore we started to operate for the Csection. Other family members came to the hospital also but I felt all alone especially while they were giving me the epidural. As soon as my husband arrived they started and sweet Ella came out first then little Liam 3 minutes later and when I heard their cries I just could not believe they had arrived!
The time in the NICU was interesting to say the least-that is a whole other world. The doctors and nurses are AMAZING. I could not believe how little they were. We were assured they were doing well and I practically lived in the NICU unit J It was so hard to leave them at night. We luckily were able to stay at Ronald McDonald House Charities and I cannot say enough about them as well. Each day, our babies got stronger and stronger and were one day closer to becoming term and going home. I so just wanted to be able to hold them and care for them on my own. It was day to day and sometimes hour by hour. We are so lucky to have two strong fighting babies. We were discharged on 8-31-2012 and it was the best thing ever! We happily brought them home. They are 5 months now and are doing well.
