I've been lurking and reading some posts catching up on all the latest news with everyone and I have seen a few people mention the PAIF Grab Board. Is this an actual community? If so, where is it? I would love to have somewhere else to go to communicate with others from this community who have moved on. Just wondering if that's what it is. Thanks!!

I'm sure lots of people are busy, but babies do nap occassionally.
I hope to see it become more active as well.KerriView Thread

Well, our son, Logan Nicholas, ended up making an early entrance into the world. He was born last Saturday, 2/25/12, at 8:06 pm. He weighed 6 lbs 7 oz and was 20 in long.
I ended up being induced due to a diagnosis of mild preeclampsia but he really was not ready to come out. We checked into the hospital on Friday morning around 9:00 and they started the induction process at 11:00 am, which took 12 hours. Then they started me on pitocin at midnight. Had contractions all through the night that just got worse as the night went on/the medication was increased. The next morning, I had not progressed at all. We asked about a C-Section and the doctor hesitated to do it so soon. She wanted me to wait until later on that day to see if I made any progress. They gave me some drug (can't remember the name) for pain, which sent me into hallucinations for the next 2 1/2 hours, during which my water broke. I was miserable...but we had a nurse who was phenominal and took wonderful care of me. My husband was great and tried to keep me calm during that time. After I came out of that drug-induced haze, it was time for the epidural. Unfortunately, it took 3 times to get it right. Finally got that going but when the doctor came back around 6:00, I still had not progressed any further. So, she "decided" it would be best to do a C-section. Phone calls were made to my parents who, unfortunately, didn't even get there before I was taken to the OR. It happened that quick.
But once we got into the OR and I was given even more drugs (yuck), Logan was born 9 minutes after the procedure started. He came out just fine, thankfully.
So now we're settling in at home and trying to establish somewhat of a routine. He's a good eater, decent sleeper and an overall calm baby so far. Let's hope it stays that way.
I still can't believe he's mine and that we get to keep him. I wish everyone here healthy pregnancies and easy deliveries! I'll be lurking and cheering you all on!

Well, we got an unexpected tour of Labor and Delivery this week when my doctor sent me to the hospital Monday afternoon for BP monitoring. I thought I was going for a couple of hours but they decided it would be a good idea for me to do another 24 hour urine test to check - again - for preeclampsia so I got to stay in the hospital until 11:00 Tuesday night. Everything checked out fine...no preeclampsia, baby is doing well, my bloodwork all came out great, but they still don't like my BP #s. So I am now on modified bed rest - 14 hours at night and an additional 2 hours during the day. Of course there are still a ton of things that need to get done and I'm still running to doctor's appointments. I have my weekly non-stress test and ultrasound today. Tomorrow is my follow-up with my OB and my husband will be taking me to that one with my hospital bag in the car in case they send us again from the office.
At this point, my back is killing me and I am having a hard time getting around so I'm about done.
I was hoping to make it to next Wednesday, Leap Day, but at this point, I'll be OK if he comes this weekend. As of Monday I still was not at all dilated, but the baby had moved down a little. I really wasn't having any major contractions on the monitor in the hospital, so if anything is going to happen, I guess they are going to have to induce me. Will keep you all updated.

Well, today is my first official day out of work and it feels weird. It's actually a little sad. My co-workers threw me a wonderful baby shower yesterday and I was completely blown away by how generous people were. I came home with another car full of gifts.
Had my first non-stress test (fetal monitoring) this morning and, thankfully, the little man has turned head down. Last week he was still sideways and my OB said if he didn't turn on his own, we'd either have to talk about turning him externally or scheduling a C-section. But today, he's in the right position.
His heart rate was really good, amniotic fluids are still good, he's "breathing" in the womb and his bowels are churning away. I am not having any contractions yet (whew!) and as of Tuesday, I'm not dilated at all, which is fine b/c his furniture is being delivered tomorrow. Came home painted the inside of his closet door...feel so productive.
I hate painting so at least he will know that his mommy is already sacrificing for him. Still have high BP so I need to be getting some rest. Guess I will go do that now.

Yeah, I really can't believe that I'm now over 37 weeks along and, technically, he could come at anytime. Then I start to panic a little and want to go wash some clothes for him.
How are you coming along with the nursery and all of your baby's stuff?

I've been having some BP issues, but I think I'm partly doing it to myself. I get worked up each time I go to my OB wondering if it's going to be high, that it ends up being high. It usually goes down after I rest, but the damage is already done. So, now I've been diagnosed with gestational hypertension. She's not saying preeclampsia b/c I don't have protein in my urine and I'm not too swollen. Today I went for an ultrasound - and was happy to see the baby again - but now they're having me go once a week for non-stress tests and ultrasounds, track my BP and do a 24 hour urine test. The baby is developing fine, he's around 5 lbs. 14 oz. (give or take) and his organs are well developed, but they want to keep an eye on him and me due to my elevated BP.
To top it all off, I finally caught a cold...and I think it's from my cat! Yes...cat! I went 8 1/2 months w/o getting sick and now I get a cold. Can't take anything and feel just generally miserable. I was going to try to work until next Friday so I can get everything settled here, but my boss pretty much talked me in to next Wednesday. She's been great through my entire pregnancy and has really been supportive of whatever I need to do.
Anyway, thanks for listening. Only a few more weeks and then I'll actually be someone's mom!

If only he would stop kicking/punching/resting on my bladder. I did have a bit of a BP issue week before last and my dr. took me out of work for 48 hours as a precaution, but that's all good now. I probably have about 2-3 more weeks of work left before they take me out for maternity leave. So, in total, I should be home for about 5 months. Had my baby shower this past weekend so now we need to figure out where to put everything since the room is not done yet...yes, we're slackers! But we're getting there. Love seeing all the updates from everyone! Take care all!KerriView Thread
