It's wonderful that your DH's grandma was able to leave a remembrance on the graves of her loved ones, especially as the sole survivor of 13 kids!
My father was a decorated soldier in the army during WWII, but he is buried all the way in CA which is quite a drive for us. Still, the memory and the gratitude was there, as for all our military. My nephew is visiting my sis for the last time before he ships off to Afghanistan and she is about freaking out! What a weekend to spend together.
