I hope everyone had a good holiday and here's to a happy new year!View Thread

Mel - I hope your appointment went well! I won't tell you it's almost over, because I know the last few weeks are the absolute worst! I started getting really panicky and claustrophobic with DS toward the end and I swear every single day felt like another week. I just wanted to be able to breathe again!View Thread

w/g - Nothing yet, but I'm not too worried about it. If I recall correctly, I only gained 8 pounds in the first 20 weeks with DS, but 33 by the end of it.
s/c - Morning sickness seems to be getting better. I still have waves of it pretty much every day, but haven't actually gotten sick in a while so that's good. Other than that, just mood swings and digestive issues, which are both pretty annoying! Oh and insomnia, but I think a lot of that is just anxiety and worrying about whether or not everything is going ok.
Next d/a is tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping and praying he does the 13 week ultrasound. I'm fully prepared to beg for it if it isn't something he routinely orders. I really really need another ultrasound to put my mind at ease. I've noticed that about a week before my appointments I start having a lot of anxiety and horrible dead baby dreams. Ugh. I just can't stop trying to prepare myself for the worst, even though there is no reason to think anything is wrong right now. I can not wait until I can start feeling movement!View Thread

I hope the physical healing is quick for you. You're a strong lady and you and your family are in my thoughts.View Thread

My update: 10w4d today
S/C: Starting to get a little belly which is encouraging. With my m/c I remember I was supposed to be 10 weeks and I wasn't showing anything at all. Still feeling sick mostly in the evenings and whenever I eat, but I haven't had any vomiting since my appointment 2 weeks ago so that's good. Other than that, I am still constantly hungry. Last night I had 2 huge portions of dinner, then not even 2 hours later my stomach was growling so I had more food. Then more food 2 hours after that right before bed, otherwise I wake up around 3am because I am so hungry. I have no idea how I have managed to not gain any weight yet, but I'm sure it will catch up to me because I haven't been craving the healthiest stuff. You would think I would be better about that, especially since I'll finish my degree in Nutrition in Jan! haha I'm not doing a great job of leading by example right now!
Other: Today is DS's birthday. He's 4! I can't believe it. I've also started feeling more confident and allowing myself to get even more excited. I started getting a pack of diapers every time I go grocery shopping so we will be all stocked up. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy any other baby items yet. I'll probably do most of that once I can feel movement and hopefully not be so paranoid!
Vicky: I'm so happy you have made it this far! Hopefully your migraines go away, but then again at least you know it's probably a side effect of hormones, which is a good thing. I feel torn about still being sick...it's annoying, but at the same time I get stressed if I have a day where I feel mostly normal!View Thread

I'm so glad you get to have that sort of constant reassurance from here on out!View Thread

I went in for a blood test and it was very clearly negative. Saw my OB and he said for whatever reason, I just didn't ovulate that month! Every cycle from December-May after my m/c was perfectly normal and on time, and like I said I have never had any issues with skipped cycles before. My cycle ended up coming perfectly on time the next month and it was extra heavy and painful, which is also normal since I had an extra month of build up.
I know it's hard not to get your hopes up. I would say definitely go for a blood test because that will give you an answer for sure. All 3 pregnancies I was able to get a positive hpt within 2 days of my missed period. I never knew it was normal to just randomly skip an entire cycle for no reason, but I guess it is more common than we think. I hope you get your answer soon because not knowing is the absolute worst.View Thread

w/g: Nothing really. I normally fluctuate /-3 pounds on any given day, so I haven't noticed any steady or permanent gain yet.
s/c: Morning sickness seems to be easing off a bit and I got a rx for zofran at my last appointment, so the last week or so has been better. I can actually get off the couch. Other than that, I'm always starving and I get up about 4 times every night to pee, which is starting to really annoy me. I've been craving all junk food (chocolate, jello, pudding, ice cream, and donuts), which is no good. With DS I couldn't stand the thought of eating anything sweet for about 6 months, so it was really really easy to eat right. I'm afraid I'm going to gain 80 pounds with this one!
In other news, DS's birthday party is this weekend so that should be fun. He will be 4 on the 30th. I can hardly believe it!
Vicky - I am really hoping for the best for you! Try to hang in there until your appointment. I know it's rough. You're right about the ER though...since it's so early, it might just be more stressful if they can't see much yet. I hope the next few weeks go quickly for you!
Mel - I am SO dreading the uncomfortable stage. I started to get all panicky towards the end with DS. lol Each day felt like another week. Sorry you're sick and work sucks, hopefully you'll make it to maternity leave with your sanity in tact! I worked retail my whole pregnancy with DS and I hated it. I'm so glad we're in a position now where I can stay home this time. I definitely have respect for working mamas!View Thread
