I have BCBS and I participate in a program called Life With Baby (not sure if it's just for my work or if it's through the insurance company). Anyway, there's a nurse that calls you to check up on you and when she called me she told me that I will be getting a breast pump for free through my insurance. She said that I just have to call them after I deliver and they will send it to me. Plus, it's a really nice one. It's the Medela Pump In Style.View Thread
I had a Pilonidal cyst a couple of years before having my first child. It was very painful and I didn't know what it was at first. I went to the ER and they lanced (that was worse than labor pain!) and they told me it was most likely caused by an ingrown hair that got infected. I was told that unless I had surgery to have the cyst removed that it would more than likely keep coming back. I definitely didn't want to go through that pain again, so I went ahead and had the surgery. It wasn't so bad. Two years later I got pregnant with my first son and I was able to have him vaginally. And two years after that I had my second son vaginally as well. And since I had the surgery to remove the cyst it has not returned.
Sorry I didn't really answer your question. I have never heard of Tarlov cyst before. Hopefully once you have the surgery you won't have any more problems with the cysts!!View Thread
Thanks ladies. I guess I should just count my blessings. Sometimes I just feel normal and it would make me feel better if I was nauseas or something to feel like I am really pregnant. Lol. But I guess it is a good thing though since we haven't told many people yet View Thread
This is my 3rd pregnancy (I have 2 boys- they are 2 and 4) and I have not been feeling a lot of symptoms. I found out a week ago I was pregnant. I am 5 weeks today. So far, I haven't really had a lot of symptoms. Just a little bit more moody than normal and of course the exhaustion. I know every pregnancy is different, but with both of my others I was already experiencing the nausea (I never actually threw up, but I felt very nauseas all the time). Is it normal not to experience anything yet? Is it just too soon? My first appointment isn't for a few more weeks. Should I be worried?View Thread
Not sure if I believe in old wive's tales or not, but we have two little boys and I really want to try for a girl! I am still on the fence about having a third because I think it will probably be another boy and I don't know if I can handle 3 boys! Lol. My SO has been talking a lot lately about wanting another baby. We had agreed to try again when our oldest is in school and we don't have to pay for daycare for him anymore. He will be 4 next month so he starts school in a year. Our youngest just turned 2.
Has anyone tried any old wives tales and had them work for a girl? I'm really curious. Like I said, I'm not sure if I believe or not but it's sure worth a try!View Thread
Even a faint line is a positive test! It just means that you aren't very far along yet. I am 38 weeks pregnant as of today and the first test I took this pregnancy was right before I was supposed to get my period and there was a very very faint line. It would be extremely rare to get a false positive. Congratulations Mama!!View Thread
I guess it kind of depends on why you had two abnormal pap smears. I had abnormal pap smears and a biopsy right before I got pregnant with my first son. I had more abnormal pap smears after he was born and ended up having to get a LEEP done. I am currently pregnant with my second child, so I am sure it is possible for you also View Thread
This happened to me in my first pregnancy when I was in the 2nd trimester. I was standing for about 10-15 minutes in the same spot during the morning meeting at work and all of a sudden I got dizzy and lightheaded and just fell to my knees. Everyone thought it was my sugar so they gave me a Sunny Delight to drink and called an ambulance. They checked my sugar and by then it was normal. I declined to go to the hospital with them because I already had a dr appt scheduled for that day. At my dr appt she acted like it was nothing and it happened all the time. At the time it really upset me that my dr did nothing to calm my fears or make me feel better about the situation. But I guess it was completely normal. Pregnancy puts our bodies through a lot and sometimes we just can't handle it. I hope all is well with you and you have a smoother pregnancy from here on out!View Thread
I have some red blotches on my thighes and I had some smaller ones on my hands. When I asked my OBGYN about it, she told me that it was a form of excema (sp?). She said that it's very common for it to show up in pregnancy even if you've never had it before. She said it happens a lot in the winter because your skin is already really dry. She told me to use Cortizone lotion. I have been using it and it seems to help.View Thread
