Im 31 yrs old two children alive and happy, had one miscarriage in between. Ive been on the Mirena for 5 yrs now have 3 mons left before removing old/current one. From the time of insertion my cycle was regular. I had the ususal light spotting/bleeding for the 1st few weeks them slowly faded and stopped. every 3-4 wks (as ive always been since ever starting my period as a young girl) i had my period "warnings" and spotted nothing heavy. That was my cycle for the first 3 yrs. By the 4th yr i slowly started spotting more (still regular) i went from just seeing streaks when i wiped to needing a liner...never a pad or tampon...at 1st it was half a day to a full day by the end of the 4th yr my period was lasting 2-3 days still very light. Coming into the 5 final yr it was getting a bit more heavier by that i mean went from using 2 liners a day to 3 maybe 4. (still no need for anything heavy duty). Here goes my issue. On March 23 i had my reg period on time, lasted 4 days a bit heavier than the previous month figured i was going into the heavy duty stuff soon. But then in June AF never showed up. Im exactly 2 wks late, experiencing tender boobs, nausea diff times a day, mouth constantly filled with saliva, headaches range from mild to head banging hurts to blink, irriated, although my babies are my life and i love them to infinity they seem to become clingy (wanting more hugs and kisses which i enjoy giving) and now i just want to run from them. Back pain constantly, pelvic soreness, abdomen soreness (havent worked out in 3 mons, got tired and lazy) eating less but still gained weight. I went to a diff gyno mines was on vaca. Told her my symptoms, missed period nd she was sure i was pregnant till i revealed the IUD. Suddenly she changes tune, "oh no, your not pregnant then. must be something else she says" i say ok then you tell me what that is then. She test my urine for every possible thing that can cause my issue, nothing comes up. I ask well whats the prob (she doesnt do an exam, just feels for my IUD string says its in place) Mind you i know they can move but the string can still be felt depending on how long it was to begin with. She doesnt know that starting length. Her explanation my period is coming which is why the pain and discomfort...suggestion i wait for my period if it doesnt show and i feel the same they will remove my IUD and replace early. ******
My question to anyone reading, have you had this issue before? What was the outcome, pregers or not? How long till you found out, what helped you to find out. My sister said do a blood test cause my HCG could be low (she's a mother of 5, never passed a preg test till she reached 6 mons along). My mother and aunt had this with at least one child. I cant wait till 6 mons in, i'd go crazy. Side note with my prince (1st born) i didnt know i was preg till i reached 2 mons had no symptoms till 3 mons, except for missed period...which is why i took the test. With my baby girl i already had an appointment due to the miscarriage when i went in i was already 2 mons along with her. Is it possible my HCG doesnt pick up with urine test till 8 weeks along = 2 mons. If so i have the 3 wk waiting game to play. Open to any suggestions, opinions, comments. Until then take care.View Thread
