Hello! We found out my wife was pregnant and had our first appt with the ob/gyn. During our first wist a transvaginal ultrasound (US) did not detect a sac or yolk; however, two days later a transabdominal did detect a sac and yolk. A week later a trans vaginal US dected a sac and fetal pole but the ob/gyn was not sure if she saw a heart beat or not.
The third transvaginal US the ob/gyn did not see a sac or fetal pole. She could not detect anything. The ob/gyn then counseled us on miscarriges and D&C procedures. My wife and i were distraought. but we asked for a transabdominal to confirm her findings.
A week later the tranabdominal detected a sac ffetal pole and hearbeat of 150 beats per min!
Ithought transvaginal ultrasounds were more accurate that transabdominal? Why is the abdominal detcting the pregnancy and not the vaginal? Whay does this occur? Please HELP?!?!View Thread
