I had my 12 week appointment today and got to listen to the heartbeat Based on my last period, my doctor said my due date is January 9, 2012. So I should be 12 weeks 2 days today. I was lucky enough today to get to have a sneak peak with an ultrasound! The ultrasound tech said I was 13 weeks 4 days which puts my due date at Dec 31... I don't go back to see my doctor for four more weeks. So can someone tell me how many weeks I am?View Thread
Anyone else having issues with getting bloody noses? I have never got them in my life but this past week I have had four! It's driving me crazy! Is this something that will pass after the first trimester or last the whole pregnancy? I am currently 11 weeks.View Thread
This is my first pregnancy. I am currently 9 1/2 weeks. I had my first doctors appointment at 8 weeks. They did not do an ultrasound, but the doctor tried to listen to a heartbeat with a doppler. He couldn't find one, but said that was normal since I was barely 8 weeks and he was not worried. I haven't really had any pregnancy symptoms - no morning sickness. Mild fatigue. In the beginning my breasts were a little tender but they aren't anymore, I also had mild cramping but that has also stopped too. I haven't had any spotting though. Like I said, this is my first pregnancy and I have absolutely no idea what to expect and am terrified of having a miscarriage.
I have only told my husband. We planned on waiting until I was 12 weeks to tell our families just because the risk of miscarriage is extremely lower. However, Father's day is next weekend, and I'm thinking that would be a good time to tell our families. It would be the first grandbaby on my side and my dad would be so excited. I will be 10 1/2 weeks at that time.
Am I stressing over nothing? My next appointment isn't until June 29 (12 weeks).View Thread
kpotvin - I have only told my husband! My first appointment is next Thursday the 31st. We don't plan on telling anyone until 13 weeks which will be the 4th of July. We'll see how long I can hide it View Thread
So I just found out Sunday I am pregnant. Currently 5 weeks 5 days. I called my Midwifes Office to schedule my first appointment, and they said they usually wait until 10 weeks? Is that normal? Also, How often do you have doctors appointments? Monthly? This is my first time, so i'm a little overwhelmed! Any advice would be greatView Thread
So my first appointment is at 8 or 10 weeks (depends on where I decide to go). Is that an appointment my husband wouldn't want to miss?
So here is my dilemma... With where my husband works, he cannot take any time off work during June. He will be working 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week. (off Sunday). I called my midwife I go to for all annual wellness appointments, and she can get me in at 8 weeks (May 31st). However, I do not plan on having my baby at that hospital. It is an hour and a half away from where I live and I don't want to have to travel that far in January when I am due on snowy roads. The hospital I plan on having my baby (actually have never seen that doctor before) 20 minutes from my house, cannot see me until June 11 (10 weeks). I don't think there is any way my husband can get time off work to go. And I'd really like him to come with me. What do I do? Go to my regular midwife so he can go even though I won't have my baby there? Or go without him to the doctor I plan on having my baby with?
Sorry I am rambling. This is my first baby and I am a bit overwhelmed and don't know what to expect. In the get go, I did consider going to my regular midwife until after 13 weeks, because the other doctor is in my husband's small hometown, his sister is an RN there. And I didn't want everyone to know I was pregnant right away (cuz we are not telling our parents/anyone til after 13 weeks). No secrets in a small town. Everyone knows everyone.
My first appointment is May 31st, which puts me at 8 weeks. I've been there before and my sis-in-law is an RN there. I live in a way small town so it is really the only option unless i drive an hour and a half. With the winters we have and me being due in January, driving that far is not something I really want to do lol.View Thread
I know my sis-in-law had an ultra sound before 12 weeks because when she announced she was pregnant she had u/s pics, then had another at 18 and 20 weeks. She works at the hospital, so I don't know if that makes a difference lol. I do plan on going to the same doctor, but since I'm from a very small town and we are not telling anyone about it until 13 weeks, I am going to my other doctor in a bigger city about an hour away until after 13 weeks then i'll switch doctors. Not sure if that's good or not.... but there are no secrets in a small town and the second I walk into that hospital for a pregnancy appointment more people will know than I want.View Thread
Thanks for the info! Also I was curious on ultra sounds... When I called to make my appointment I asked about it and they said insurance usually only pays for one so I probably wouldn't have an ultrasound until 20 weeks... Is that normal? It seems like everyone I know that is pregnant has had an ultrasound before 12 weeks along with one at 20 weeks. If insurance only pays for one, how much does a second one cost? I'd like to have one before 12 weeks just as a comfort for me (and to ensure there's just one baby in there lol) Also I haven't told anyone yet. we are waiting to tell family until after 12 weeks and I was hoping I'd have an ultrasound pic then... What's normal? Advice?View Thread
