My morning sickness has been RIDICULOUS with this pregnancy. It's pretty much all-day, every day sickness! Today, I pushed myself really hard to get all my errands done, trying not to fall apart over how nauseous I feel. When I finally got home, I realized I forgot to buy myself some ginger ale, which I was really looking forward to. So I got to thinking...I've got some ginger...can I make it in to something palatable to help with my queasy stomach?
I came up with this, and it worked. It's kind of sour, but not terrible tasting. And it calmed my stomach down right away.
Here's what I did:
Grate about a teaspoon of fresh ginger Fill a 12 oz. cup about 1/3 full with sweet and sour Add ginger Fill cup the rest of the way with club soda Mix thoroughly Strain out ginger if desired* Add ice
*I left the ginger in my cup. If you're going to strain it out, I'd let it sit a few minutes so the ginger flavor can seep in to your drink.View Thread
