First of all, congratulations! I'm sorry to hear about your family situation. It must be so hard to go through this without them. If you feel like the nausea is keeping you from getting the nutrition you need, talk to your dr about Zofran. It's medicine they can give you to ease the nausea. It has helped several of my friends. I didn't have any luck with it, but that was bc I was throwing up everything I ate. The Navy dr gave me tablets, which was stupid. They do have Zofran in a sublingual, so you just put it under your tongue instead of swallowing it. I'm not as sick this time around and I've found that peppermint drops that contain real peppermint oil help a bit. They are candy, so maybe that would help with you ow blood sugar, too.
I hope you feel better soon! Most people do arund the start of the second trimester. Take care!

The nausea, unfortunately, is super normal. It goes away for a lot of people around the time the second trimester rolls in, so there may be an end in sight.
Is there a church in your town that you could get involved in? A lot of churches have small groups of people that meet outside of church and become a lot closer. That may be a good place to meet people who would walk through this though time with you. I have made very close friends in church small groups. It does wonders to know that people care about you and are praying for you. Would someone in your family be able to come visit you for a pick-me-up? Or do you have one friend that you could ask go shopping with you? Getting a fun baby item may help you to be a little more excited.
I am also 9 weeks, so I am right there with you. I am due June 26. Keep me posted on how you're doing. I also started a group for June 2013 Moms, so if you'd want to check that out, there are a few of us who are around the same time together. Take care of yourself!View Thread

When I got pregnant with my daughter, we waited until 10 weeks. This time, we are waiting until 11 (the extra week is to make it coincide with my grandfather's birthday). I don't mean to be a naysayer. Odds are always better that things with the baby will be fine. But I am terrified of having to tell the world about a miscarriage. The one incident I had was terrible. I think it's worth a few weeks' wait.View Thread
