I have to go in for the 3 hr glucose test in the morning. I figure I probably WILL have GD, my 1 hr level was 205. Diabetes runs in my family, and I had to do the 3 hr with DS 9 years ago, although it was fine then. ANYWAY, I want to breastfeed. I already know I will have to have a C section because I pushed with DS for 3 hours and he wouldn't move, so they don't want to risk it with this one. I asked my Dr. this morning about how soon to bf after the surgery and he said I could immediately, but that was before we got the sugar level. So will my having GD cause a delay in bf-ing? Do they ALL have to have formula supplemented in hospital? Or can we just start bf-ing ? It is SO important to me to be able to exclusively breastfeed!View Thread
