Normal levels do not ensure birth of a normal infant; this test screening has a false negative rate of 12%, and 21% for anencephaly and open spina bifida, respectively. In addition, 2-3% of newborns have some type of physical or mental defect, many of which may be undetectable with current prenatal diagnostic procedures.
If the doctors recommend further testing, please consider. If there is any chance in your LO having DS, there are counselors to help you cope.
Good luck to you and your LOView Thread

Im currently on my 2nd pregnancy and haven't gain any weight so far (im 21 wks) - I have actually lost 2 lbs. My doctor is not concerned at all. Baby is growing strong and on time

With my first, I gained a total of 12 lbs and my son was 7lbs 8oz of those 12 lbs......after I gave birth, I was 25lbs lighter than when I became pregnant!! I just ate healthy.
You not showing yet is normal for some. I started showing around your time with my 1st preg., now, with this one, I started showing as soon as I found out I was pregnant!!
Every pregnancy is different and everyone shows at different times. Your baby maybe more towards your back then your front....But have no fear, you will get your baby bump and more importantly, you will get your beautiful baby soon!!!
Below is a chart on how much you should be gaining.

when I use to call my OB regarding my son and not being able to feel him (I was worried all the time with my 1st preg. and I called for everything!) they said to drink cold water and lay on your left side. but also, if I didn't feel him move within that hr, to go to the ER. which I never had to.
im sure your baby is perfectly fine, maybe just not kicking as hard as you'd like him/her to. If you are really worried and don't feel anything for a long while, do not be ashamed to go to the ER or call your doctor or the on-call doc. Better to be safe.
Good luck with everything!!View Thread
