hear you on the high hot temperatures. I live in the western tip of Texas (El Paso TX to be exact) and we have been having temperatures in the 100s, though i am used to it because I was born and I have lived here all my life. But, being pregnant has made the heat unbearable. Sometimes I feel like I am in the sauna. It is hot but I know that when it is hot and humid, it really sucks. The humidity is not as bad here as it is in other places. I have a huge fan in my room as well the a/c on pretty much all day. Sometimes it is so hot that I have another little fan going on as well. Shoot, even the cold water comes out warm here. It is horrible because one thing I am experiencing right now which I don't like is horrible itching all over my body. I try to drink as much water as I can. My mom got mad at me because I would walk in the heat at around 6:15 pm and it was still around 100 degrees.
The thing we are used to is hot weather. More than a year ago our city had a freeze where it snowed and the temperatures were very very low, like in the single digits and teens. Now, we weren't used to that. I am sure those of you who live in the part of the US where you get lots of snow you are used to that kind of weather.
My mom told me that when my older brother was a baby, she had just bathed him and put him on the bed to dress him. Well, our dad was asleep right next to him and before my mom could put a diaper on him my brother had peed in my dad's ear.View Thread
Ok. I am sorry for this post but I just wanted to ask all of you moms who experienced round ligament pain. Can it sometimes be a burning pain? I had gone to my doctor because I would routinely get sharp, burning pains in my groin area, or femoral area. But, I am also feeling them in my labia area as well. My doctor said it was because of the round ligament pain. I don't have any infection or yeast infections and no unusual discharge. IT is just that when i do get these pains they are short but painful. I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced something like this. I am a worrywart and I know I shouldn't worry because it can affect the baby. My doctor said it is because the baby is growing and the uterus is going upward into my belly so the ligaments are stretching. ITs just annoying having to deal with this and my sciatica as well. It is not too bad (sciatica) but sometimes I am stopped in my tracks by the sudden shooting pains I get down my legs.
Ack! I know I have posted about itching down there before. But, my doctor said that it is because i didn't stop stratching that I scratched the skin raw and now I have a vaginal infection (actually more of an infection of the vulva), so that is why i have been itching and burning. So, hopefully, the medicine he gave me will help. He also told me not to wear darkc colors, (i bought some black capri exercise pants) only light colors. It is very hot where I live, so the heat doesn't help either. I just have to have a lot of willpower not to make it worse. I have already a bladder infection and kidney infection. I am sorry if I seem like I am complaining about this, but it my first time being pregnant. i know alot of things happen when you are pregnant. I am just happy that nothing has affected the baby so far.
One more question, did any of you develop hemorrhoids? If so, what did you do to treat them? I heard everything from witch hazel to sitz baths help. Unfortunately, my doctor said that these are common in pregnancy so there is no avoiding them.View Thread
Oh, to all you ladies who can still workout vigorously, I wish I could. But, because I am considered high risk, my doctor told me no. I was diagnosed with placenta previa and until it corrects itself, i cannot do anything vigorous. Hopefully, it will clear up soon. I was a runner before I got pregnant but I had to stop because ir made my sciatica worse and also because of the placenta previa. But, I walk.View Thread
(1). 23 weeks (2). First one (3). Maybe (4). Chocalate frosting (5). Don't know yet (6). Irene Charlize, if it is a girl, Micah Israel, if it is a boy (7). The frizz in my hair has gotten worse. I have naturally curly hair and it is frizzy to begin with, but for some reason it has gotten worse. So tough to take care of frizzy, curly hair. Sometimes I am so lazy I just put it up into a bun. The heat where I live is so bad. But, the humidity is not as bad as I am sure it is in other places.View Thread
oh i feel you on the weight gain part. I am 22 weeks and I have already gained 17 lbs. The problem with me is that I was technically already "overweight" to begin with by BMI standards. I weighed about 188lbs before I got pregnant and now I weigh about 205. My doctor wanted me to keep my weight gain around 25 lbs to 30 lbs. So, I hope I don't gain that much more bc I still have about 4 months to go. I am 5 9 and they say I don't look 5 months pregnant. But, I am kind of concerned because they say by 5 months you should have gained about 10 lbs. But, you are right, every pregnancy is different. But, it doesn't help that I like to drink Dr Pepper a lot. My doctor hasn't told me anything except to cool it on the Dr. Pepper. I crave, get this, chocalate frosting. But, I do eat healthy as well.View Thread
I know I have posted this before about the itching. I am going to try the cocoa butter. However I wanted to ask if any of you if you have experienced any itching down in your girlie parts. I am sorry for the personal nature of this question and it is embarrassing for me to ask this question. But I have been experiencing a lot of itching down there to the point that I feel as though my pubic hair is stratching me. I am using a medicine (cream) that my doctor gave me because he said I had vulvitis. It does help but I just wanted to know if anyone on here is experiencing or has experienced this while pregnant. Again, sorry for this question, it is embarrassing to ask this question but just wanted to know. Thank you.View Thread
Congrats on your anniversary also. I am not married and I am not with the baby's father (he is being a jerk about this whole thing, stating that he is not the father even though I know he is). That's okay. I have already gone down the road to get a paternity test done to prove he is the father (and he is in the military).
What will you name your little baby boy? If my baby is a girl, her name will be: Irene Charlize. I always said that if I had a girl, I would name her after my grandmother. If he is a boy, his name will be Micah Israel. I love that name.
