I'm so sorry you have to go through that. The military can never make it easy. My DH is in the Navy and we're supposed to be moving before the baby is born in Aug (actually, we were originally supposed to move sometime b/t March and May, but they can't seem to get it together to get us orders). And we may get just a month or notice to try and sell our house and find new one. I love how they put so much of this on the spouses and then send us those stupid emails once a yr that say, "We appreciate and support our military spouses for all you do for our service members." That is such crap! They couldn't care less about us.
(Sorry, I guess I just had to join in on your vent b/c I totally know what you mean.) As far as the weight, I'm sure you didn't actually gain 10 lbs in 2 days. It just may be that with the slower digestive system of a pregnant woman, your body is holding onto some of the food longer. Good luck with everything. I wish I had some kind of good advice to give, but I don't. Take care and I hope everything works out!View Thread
It's a girl. Almost everyone in my family thought for sure it would be a boy. Now I have to figure this girl thing out b/c I am so not girly. Any tips from moms with girls? I'm really trying to get excited, this is just going to take some getting used to. I am excited about having a 4 generations pic w/ my grandma, my mom, me, and our baby girl.View Thread
This is my first pregnancy and we're so excited to find out the sex on Thurs! I'm 19 weeks now. In my first trimester, I had MAJOR sickness, morning, noon, and night, from weeks 6-11. So much so that I had to go to the hospital twice for fluids and I lost 11 pounds. No heartburn, no real cravings, although I had a general aversion to almost all food for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the second trimester. At our 13 wk u/s, we saw the baby moving all around like crazy! Flipping, dancing, would not stay still. I started feeling movement in week 14 and it's gotten much stronger in the last couple of weeks. All movement I feel is very low. I've been very tired, pretty much the whole time. For the last couple of weeks, I've been having a good bit of back pain.
I think that's it. What do you ladies think?View Thread
I know just what you mean. I wish I had a solution. I just wanted to say, I know how you feel! I'm usually a three times a day kind of gal, but the last couple of months... yikes. It hurts so bad that it has sucked the sex drive right out of me. We've tried all sorts of positions and nothing seems to work. I just give up..View Thread
No offense nice and well meaning mom I know, but I don't want any more advice or any half used bottles of stretch mark oil. And I could really go the rest of my life without you ever showing me "how well it works." (For the record, it didn't.)
No offense parents of kids I work with, but if your kids are sick, I don't need to be within 10 miles of your house. I'm pregnant and my immune system sucks. I don't need that stomach virus... AGAIN.
No offense DH, but stop snoring or get out of my bed. And if you ask me what's for dinner one more time, I just might kick you in the face.
I feel your pain. My MIL is all offended that she's not allowed in. Apparently the whole world saw my BIL's wife give birth almost 3 yrs ago. MIL just assumed they would be in the room when I give birth. Hells to the no. It's my business all out there and she doesn't need to see it. My family will be in the waiting room, too. As far as I'm concerned, they can all have a waiting room party and party on in to see the baby after DH and I have had a minute for just us and our new addition to the family. I really want them to be at the hospital and meet the baby right after, but they just don't need to see all that.View Thread
Amen sista! I noticed hair on my stomach the other day while I was rubbing in stretch mark prevention oil (yeah, right, I know, but it makes me feel better to try) and DH was standing right there as I started to freak out. I prob should have kept my trap shut while he was standing there if I ever want to DTD again, but I was too disgusted. I feel like a man... This baby so better love me more than DH.View Thread
First of all, you should STAY AWAY! Mold can make you very sick, so you should stay out of your basement and have your husband kill the mold ASAP. Bleach should do the job on hard surfaces, like linoleum. I had a problem with carpet mold a few months ago. Everything I found said you have to rip up the carpet or it would come back. Then I found somewhere on-line where someone said Lysol Brand Concentrate (the red liquid in the brown bottle) mixed with water in a steam cleaner kills mold in carpet. I tried it and it worked beautifully (the stain, however, stayed around, but the actual mold was completely gone). I went over the spot with the steam cleaner over and over for about 45 mins. When it was dry, we pulled back the carpet to make sure it was gone from the carpet, pad, and floorboards. Then we pulled it back to check again after 1 wk and again after 2 wks. It never came back. If it's in the walls, I have no idea what to tell you, but bleach on hard surfaces and Lysol Concentrate in a steam cleaner on the carpet should take care of your floors. GL!View Thread
