Just had to share my excitement!! Today's my last day of work (thank goodness because my boss is certifiable!), my sister is flying in tomorrow, we're getting pictures taken tomorrow afternoon and my little man is hanging on like I asked him too until after these things happen!!!! Well, hanging on for now, a lot could change overnight ; )View Thread
Heck no you're not crazy!!!! You wouldn't believe how much better it feels once you get the room done. It was like a tremendous weight had been lifted off of me. There's just something about accomplishing things and being ready. My bp was a little high at first and the more I got done around the house for him the better it got. If it's not getting too high while working on that stuff then go for it!View Thread
Feeling different myself. Of course, for the past week I've been feeling like it's going to happen that night and it hasn't. I wish I knew what to expect, this is my first, so I knew what I was feeling. I keep getting these random pains right in between my belly and down there. They aren't consistent and they're sharp and short. I just need him to hold on until Thursday when my sister gets here!!
Keep us posted - sounds like you're getting close : )View Thread
Haha wouldn't that be fun! Hopefully we're not all going to the same hospital - I need to get my hands on that anesthesiologist!!
Everyone keeps thinking I'm going this weekend, my boss is making me leave my keys just in case : ) We'll see! I just wish I knew exactly what to look out for! They tell you you're water breaking or contractions but I've heard from so many that their water didn't break and that they didn't realize they were having contractions!!!
One lady at work told me that with all of her children and all of her dil's children they went into a nesting-frenzy that day and then labor that night. I've heard that from another co-worker as well. If I get home tonight and just can't stop myself from cleaning they may be onto something!View Thread
For those of you who aren't a newbie like me : ) did you have any symptoms before you went into labor? Maybe a couple of days before the day of? Just wondering what to look for, if anything. I'm 38 weeks today and I've been feeling a little crampy, it comes and goes, and he just feels like he's really uncomfortable down there. His movements are so different than they were. Also, I've been having a little bit of nausea and diarrhea that comes and goes. At my visit this past Wednesday the doc said my cervix was thinning but that was all he said. Just curious if anything I'm feeling could mean it's happening in the next few days or so. Thanks!!View Thread
I know you're worried - I am too - they measured my boy at 6.5 lbs at 37 weeks and I'm 5'2" so I'm a little worried about delivering a big boy! But like everyone else has said, my ob wasn't worried about it. I'm scheduled for another u/s next Friday even though the last time I went in the doc said he didn't think he was measuring that big. Just hang in there, relax and remember it's all worth it in the end!!!View Thread
I know you say laying down works best but have you tried walking? Whenever I start to feel really crappy I just pace my house like a crazy person ; ) But it helps me. I also try working my stomach muscles a little by pushing out and sucking in. That seems to help relieve some of the pressure. It's also helped for me to sit in a chair, I use my glider, with a thick pillow behind my back so it arches. I think the biggest thing is that your muscles are stretching so much that it's good to get them working and a little "warm" so they can do what they have to do. Laying down my feel good at the time but it might be making things worse. I'm no expert, just my thoughts/experiences. Hang in there!!View Thread
And no one would blame you for being stressed!!!! I think we all worry, whether there's something wrong or not, that there is something wrong. Unfortunately I don't think that ever goes away... Changing doctors and hospitals does suck but if you get a happy healthy baby girl out of it it'll all be worth it. Just hang in there and keep us posted!View Thread
