Hey ladies it has been quite a while since I have been on the boards but things have been crazy. I am just now getting back to work because Zakiyah Logan was born on September 7th at 1:27am... He was 3days early, but was healthy as can be. He weighed 6lbs 13oz and was 20in long. The labor was mcuh shorter with her than with his older brother! Hope everyone is doing well and see ya soon on the newborn boards!!

Thank you ladies...
Sorry I was gone so long, was just soaking up every second I had to be home with my boys:)...
Everything went very smooth with LO. I went into the hospital around 6pm on the 6th after having some contractions since the 4th. The contractions slowly got increasingly more intense and frequent. I contemplated going in wednesday night but decided not to because I had no one to stay with Izayah. Then thursday I called off work and walked around the neighborhood while Zay rode his bike for an hour or 2. Once my mom woke up she could see the contractions coming and getting stronger so we went up and the dr asked me to walk the floor for a while and if I progressed then we would have a baby that night and if not they would give me something to help me sleep and break my water in the morning. I walked and progressed quickly Just an hour or so after I got the epi Little Zakiyah made his entrance to the world!
Since we came home Izayah has been a great big brother. He's always wanting to help mommy with "his baby" and wanting to hold Zakiyah. I love having 2! ...
As for juggling work and my boys, I have a great support system and I would do anything for the boys so I definitely make it work. I have cut back on my hours at work to be home with them as much as possible because leaving them everyday is a struggle!View Thread

Heathir & Zakiyah Logan
38 wks today
w/g: 17lbs same for the last month
s/c: just plain miserable! I can't get comfortable for anything. When I sit he's in my ribs, when I stand there is so much pressure it is painful and even laying down i can't seem to alleviate the pain in my ribs or back to get comfortable. Tired all the time and can't seem to get a break.
Other: Getting the crib on wednesday or thursday so I can set that thing up and then the only thing left is to pack mine & LO's bag for the hospital. DS seems to be very antzy about his baby brother coming!
Next D/A: tomorrow 8/28 reg ob, hopefully i am making progress!!!View Thread

Wow hope it has gotten better but a friend of mine developed a rash near the end of her pregnancy and they had to induce her because they said it was something caused by the baby. I can't remember for sure exactly what it was but I would def tell the dr about it especially because of how uncomfortable it is making you! Better safe than sorry and better sooner than later. I wouldnt wait until the appt wednesday I would call today or tomorrow! Either way hopefully it gets better and I hope it is nothign too serious! Good luck with being induced if they decide to!. I am hoping I can put myself in labor this weekend! lol maybe walking or alot of house work. Maybe I will just carry DS around everywhere, he weighs 40lbs so it might work! No matter what I am ready to go now!!!View Thread

Sounds like you are def getting close with the dilation and effacement as well as the mucus plug.
I believe i lost my mucus plug about a month ago and am still very much pregnant.
The chunk that I saw was clear with brown blood streaks in it but wasn't completely bloody or anything like that. The dr said it can rebuild itself and I am guessing after a month it probably has.
From what I have heard though if it is red blood you are close and once you get between 4 & 6 cm the labor is supposed to jump start so hopefully you are having this LO soon!!!View Thread

Welcome to the board and sorry you came with some concerns! I had the same questions myself as last week I was having regular BHCs and had been having more discharge the past few days so I was a bit concerned as well. Everyone I talked to said better safe than sorry so I went to L&D triage and they checked everything from the baby's movements and heartbeat as well as my contractions & dilation. I was sent home after a couple hours of observation with a clean bill of health. They did advise that dehydration can put you into pre-term labor so stay hydrated!!! other than that just don't push yourself too hard when doing physical activities!
With my first LO, I didn't have any labor signs until my water actually broke so having BHCs this time has really confused me! Just hope that when I am in true labor I really know it like everyone suggests!...
Wish I could be more help but I know what you're going thru & I must say I agree with what everyone has told me "better safe than sorry"... Good luck!View Thread

I'm trying, we just finally got the room set up only thing left is to actually put the crib up and then the house will actually be ready for LO to come(nothing like last minute)lol! Got all of the clothes and blankets washed and everything so once I set up the crib and wash all the toys I will be doing everything I can think of to get this Little Guy to meet the world!

Wow seems like you are still pretty miserable. Hopefully it gets better or you have LO soon so that you can be comfortable again. I have had the same issue with my hip going out but I have hyper flexability (double jointed) so mine seem to go in and out much easier. When the baby settles low into my pelvis my right hip goes out and its somewhat painful to walk or try lifting that leg as I can feel everything rubbing and I have limited movement with that leg as well. But When LO decides to give my pelvis a break its like I can't breathe because he is in my ribs. I know I am ready for this baby to be here so I can get my body back to normal and with this being your 8th I'm sure you are ready also.
Thats great that they are back to school, but seems like you are a little lost without your helpers... nothing wrong with that! Hopefully they are just as helpful when you bring baby home!
....
Well I'll be sending labor vibes your way and praying for them to come my way so that we can both get back to normal and be holding our LOs in our arms!... Hope things get better for you!View Thread
