It would have been nice to have my little guy on 10/11/12 but he had different plans.View Thread

Being a mom is wonderful and i'm glad to have a very loving and understanding boyfriend who is willing to help out as much as possible.
Yesterday I was so exausted from lack of sleep so when we got back from a family party my boyfriend told me to sleep while he took care of Gavin. I needed the 4 hours of sleep and I feel soooo much better today. Finally a day without me breaking down and crying.
Thanks BeautifullyBlessed. I like the name too. I got his first name from a dream I had and his middle name is after my brother who died in '96.View Thread

Wednesday around midnight I went to L&D and I was dialated to a 4 and about 60% effaced an hour later they checked me again and I was the same so they sent me home with instructions to take a bath. It helped with the pain of the contractions but didn't stop them. At that time they were about 6-10 min apart.
After my bath I went to bed and woke up about an hour later with contractions 30 sec or less apart and had started bleeding so I called my doctor and headed back to L&D.
I was going to go med free but the pain was so bad I asked for drugs. The pain meds they gave me didn't touch the pain so I asked for an epidural. Can I say it was AWESOME.
When the nurse checked me again once I went back to L&D I was still at a 4 but 100% effaced and while checking me she accidentally broke my water and I dialated to an 8 in minutes putting my baby in distress and his heart rate dropped. My blood pressure shot up and so did my sugars so they took me to the OR and started to prep me for a c-section when my baby's heart rate went back up so they too me back to a room and started me on magnesium to get my blood pressure down.
I wasn't dialating past an 8 and didn't feel the need to push so they waited and then the baby's heart rate dropped again and my blood pressure wouldn't go down so I was once again wheeled into the OR and had an emergency c-section.
Because of the magnesium my baby was having a hard time breathing so they took him straight to the NICU. He was also having problems keeping his blood sugars up so they gave him a dextrose solution.
Gavin spent one week in the NICU and is now doing very well. I don't get alot of sleep but i'm happy to have a healthy little boy.View Thread

S/C: I've been having labor for the last 3 days. Contractions are getting more painful but stay between 6-15 min apart. Can't sleep at night because of pain and contractions.
Other: I was in L&D early Sunday morning but didn't dialate in the 3 hrs I was there so they sent me home although contractions were getting closer together and more painful. At my doctors apointment today I was dialated to a 4 and very stretchy so my doctor thinks I could have my baby tomorrow. If my baby doesn't come by next week then she'll strip my membranes.
At my NST this morning they had to shock the baby awake because he wasn't moving like he normally does. He typically tries to kick the monitors off my tummy but today he decided to sleep.
At least I have all the baby's clothes and blankets washed and my bag packed for the hospital. As for a crib it's still in my mom's garage and needs to be set up.

s/c: Had contractions all night last night so I didn't get much sleep. Baby is sitting on a ligament causing sharp pain in my abdomen. I'm 3 cm dialated and 70 % effaced. My doctor thinks i'll have my baby pretty soon. I sure hope so.
Other: Still don't have a name picked out and getting worried that my little boy won't have one. My boyfriend and I decided on the name Gavin but one of my SIL's is upset because it's close to her sons name Kaven. And the two will only be a year apart. She needs to realize that it's my child and I can name him as I please and that i'm not naming him Gavin because of her son or after anyone else.

w/g 9 lbs. I've gained 7-8 lbs just this week. Doctor thinks that most of it is water weight because of all the swelling.
s/c: Bad hip pain and acid reflux. Can't get comfortable at night because my hips hurt too much. My feet and legs are now 3 times larger than they should be. I can't wear shoes and even my crocs are tight. I've tried several different things to help with the swelling and nothing seems to work.
Other: Had an ultrasound today and baby looks great. Heart beat is strong and he's still moving all the time. The aprox. weight is 6lbs 3 oz so he's a big baby due to the GD. I'm dialated to a 2 with 50% effacement so the contractions i've been having are doing their job.

Try alternating between heat and ice on your hips. It helps me some.View Thread
