Well, my little bundle of joy came earlier than expected. Micah Israel Andrade was born on September 15 2012. He was 4 lbs 14.1 oz and 18 inches long. Small but he is healthy. He was about a month early. My EDD was October 13th. But, I started having some complications the week before he was born. I had high blood pressure and then I think I overdid it because I started to lose my mucus plug. Then, on Saturday at about 2 am I started having contractions. I thought they were Braxton Hicks contractions because they were far apart but then they started getting very painful and would increase when I would change positions when I was sleeping, when I got up to go wee and even walking. So, I called my doctor to tell him and he said to go to the hospital. So, my mom drove me to the hospital and when I checked in, the contracftions were about 3 to 5 mins apart. The nurse checked me and I was already 3 cm dilated. Then by 12 noon, I was 7 cm. By 5:00 pm, I was already more than 10 cm dilated. So, the doctor (not mine unfortunately) came and Micah Israel was out in two pushes and he was born at 5:22 pm. He is doing well.
But, me, well, for some reason I started developing new symptoms that I never got when i was pregnant. Well, I have weird sensations all over my skin that sometimes feel like pins and needles and other times it feels like electric sensations. They aren't painful but they are annoying. My itching (I did develop PUPPPS while I was pregnant) has gotten worse. Don't know if this is bc my body is trying to get back to normal. Hope so because the itching is so annoying. It keeps me awake at night.
Lastly, even though I had a small baby, I tore and it was a 2nd degree tear. So, I wanted to know from any of you moms, did you tear and how long did it take to heal. Other than that, I am thankful that my baby boy was born healthy. So excited to share this with all of you.
thank you everyone for your wishes and blessings. He is doing well. My tear is feelinga a lot better. I have been using ice packs and Dermoplast spray (which is my new best friend). I am very impatient so I guess I expected to heal quickly. But, I know it will take time. But, I am glad to at least get up and around.
Again, thank you all for your wishes and blessings!View Thread
oh i am finally in the home stretch....i am 29 weeks pregnant....oh but i have been having horrible itching on the backs of my legs and buttocks...it is very annoying because every time i sit down i feel like i am sitting on pins and needles or it feels like i am getting little electric shocks...i don't know if this is due to the itching or due to my sciatica acting up...kind of hard to distinguish sometimes...but have any of you had these weird sensations on your buttocks or the backs of your legs? I always had very dry skin before I was pregnant but I guess it is has been exacerbated by the pregnancy...i have tried everything from oatmeal bath to cocoa butter....don't know what else to try....any tips ? other than that, everything is good...still haven't found out what my baby is a boy or a girl... the ultrasound last week showed my baby in a breech position so my doctor couldn't tell...hope to find out soon...congrats to all you moms to be or moms to be again...View Thread
