I'm a first-time mommy who is now 30 weeks and my EDD is Nov. 28th. I went into preterm labor when I was 28 weeks and stayed in the hospital for (thank goodness) only 1 week because my body reacted so well to the Procardia which stopped my contractions. I also had too much fluid in my sac so the doctors put me on something called Indocin (which is an NSAID!) for just a few days. Needless to say, I am grateful to be home BUT for someone who wouldn't take cold medicine when she became sick or Tylenol to relieve the pain of a headache, I am truly worried about the effects of this drug on my baby, especially in the future (ADD, Asthma, Autism, etc.) I have expressed my concerns with my Dr. and she says she would rather have me take this medicine than have my baby come too early. She also assures me that everything will be okay. As of right now, I do have a healthy baby. My hubby says I'm being too negative. Is there anyone out there who has gone through the same thing or know of someone who has?View Thread
Hi, I'm new to this and after reading your post I feel a bit better about taking the Procardia my doctor has prescribed. I am to take it 4 times a day until I reach my 36th week. My doctor knows how I feel about taking this med. but she says she would rather I take it than have my baby too early. I'm just nervous that something will come out later saying this drug led to children getting ADD/ADHD or some other medical condition. I know, I'm very paranoid!View Thread
