Ultrasounds, doctors, and techs are known to be a wee bit conservative when interpreting what they see in my experience. Most doctors practice better safe than sorry. This often leads to a bit of unnecessary worry. Sometimes the worry is justified. Keep talking to your wife's doctor, ask for recommendations for further follow up.
In the meantime, take your cue from her doctor and try not to be super concerned.View Thread
As of tomorrow, you will have a new moderator on this exchange. I will be working with her while she gets her feet wet-but I would like you to welcome your new moderator: Lainey_WebMD Staff.
I have loved helping out on the trimester exchanges. It has been a long time since I had the joys (as well as fears and frustrations) of pregnancy but pregnancy communities were where I started working online many years ago and still a favorite of mine.
When you get ready for losing the baby weight-come look for me over on the Diet exchanges or if you have a craving during pregnancy but need the recipe re-worked to be a bit more nutritious-come over and say hello on the Food and Cooking Exchange .
Wishing you each a happy and healthy pregnancy and beyond.(and lots of labor vibes for those of you needing them right now)View Thread
I have to weigh in here on the other side. If I were you, I would seriously consider if you have a family member who would be willing to be back up while he is away. I would also consider seeing if you can find a doula to help you during labor. If he isn't there when the baby is born-dozens of people will probably see her before he does. If you have a good relationship with your family or with both families-I don't think that really takes away from him seeing his baby for the first time. If you aren't close-then that is different.
On the other hand, I thought my kids would be early-none of them were...so you might have nothing to worry over after all.View Thread
All of mine were after due dates. My first-3 weeks after even the doctor's ultrasound prediction. Of course, technically the girls came earlier (middle child 10 days post dates) but the third was forcibly evicted by induced labor at two weeks late.View Thread
