Michelle Duggar has had three c-sections. One with her second, one with the 15th and one with the most recent. The rest have been vaginal births. While I doubt you are after more than a dozen vaginal births-it does seem that you can have multiple safe vbacs.View Thread
Have you seen a lactation consultant since leaving the hospital or been to a LLL meeting? I had those days where it really drained me and ugh-she wants to eat again? Having good positive support with ideas really, really helps.
Of course, when I had those I am going to quit days-my dh said ok, so quit-which probably ticked me off enough to keep going. My son was bottle fed because he was failure to thrive because of a thyroid condition that was undiagnosed at the time. At 16, he is just as bonded to me, if not more so than my youngest who breastfed for two years.
Breastfeeding isn't easy-especially if you aren't getting enough professional help with ideas to make it easier, support with other duties, a good healthy diet AND if you expect it to be magically wonderful. On the other hand, if more mothers breastfed in the United States, the a study in the current issue of Pediatrics says it would save 1000 babies lives a year and billions of dollars.View Thread
Unless you have platinum or titanium or whatever level frequent flyer miles, you won't get that row unless you fly Southwest, get lucky, show up at the airport early, etc. Otherwise a nice unencumbered businessman will be sitting in that aisle and smirk at you as you struggle to your seat.
In the past you could usually count on getting an empty middle seat if you reserved an aisle and a window. Now, that is practically impossible as well. Either plan to have the wee one in a sling/kangaroo type carrier or buy a ticket.
Up in the air my kids were generally good. My breastfeeding kids were great taking off and landing too.
I flew a ton with my kids for the first five years of their lives. Since then they have flown much more than most adults with their father (after this summer they will have only missed Antarctica as a continent) ...and are always a bit put off when they travel by air with me and they don't get the automatic upgrade to the business/first class cabin with their miles.View Thread
