This is my third pregnancy. I have a 1 year old and 3 year old, who were conceived through IVF. My husband and I are SHOCKED to learn that we are pregnancy (on our own). We are thrilled with the idea of another baby, but I'm dreading the blood sugar roller coasters...Both of my boys were born healthy, and other than the stress of trying to control my blood sugars, everything went smoothly. However, my Ob and Endocronologist are not in agreement. I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but apparently the standards that Obs go by and the standards that Endos go by are different. Can you believe that! I felt like I worked soooo hard and never made either of them happy. My Endo said I had to eliminate carbs from my mornings and my Ob said that was ridiculous (thank goodness). I had to check my blood sugars first am, premeals, post meals and before bed, which seems standard. However, my Ob wanted 2 hour posts and my Endo wanted 1 hour posts. I was pricking constantly. Not too mention I'm fighting morning sickness, which seems to be minimal if I eat several small snacks throughout the day. You know what that means... My A1cs were never more than 6 with either pregnancy, but I rarely if ever get a pat on the back from either. I don't think they understand how frustrating this is. Can anyone else relate? View Thread
