I was just diagnosed at 26 weeks pregnant with gestational diabetes. I have been following the proper diet, excercising for 30 min a day and testing my blood religiously 4 times a day. I am finding that my test results are very low and can't understand how I could be diagnosed with this with such low #'s. I don't feel like I've changed my diet all that much as I don't eat junk food and basically eat well balanced meals. At what point do you question your dr as to a mis diagnosis? Anyone else having low blood sugar readings and isn't on insulin?View Thread
Thanks for the help. The diet I'm on lets me eat some carbs with each meal but for whatever reason, my blood sugar readings still remain low. I ate a huge bowl of pasta with meat and tomato sauce for dinner and really didn't do anything "excercise" wise after and after two hours my blood sugar level was only at 100....I then had a huge bowl of corn flake cereal with sugar for my midnight snack and woke up to a fasting blood sugar of 71. I'm not complaining about the low blood sugar readings, but just finding it hard to understand how after eating those foods they didn't raise my blood sugar to levels that are indicative of a diabetic condition. I'm sure my dr will tell me to eat more carbs to raise the sugar level, but then isn't that contradictory to the whole gestational diabetes diagnosis?View Thread
