I was just diagnosed with GD at 26 weeks and will be meeting with my dietitian in a week. I was given a list of things to eat and things to avoid until then when they'll give me a more comprehensive diet as well as a monitor. I've been pretty stressed about the whole thing, (I almost passed out during my 3hr test) especially since this is my second pregnancy and I had no complications whatsoever with my first, plus I've been really good about eating healthy. I have such a hard time eating now and emotionally charged, especially when they told me what could happen to my baby. I've gone to the store, read labels, done my "homework" and checked for low-carbs and seen all these sugar free things and splenda and what not (what's safe?), I've been having big craving lately, but I've heard some sweeteners are not safe for pregnant women. I know I won't have an idea until I see the dietitian. I guess I'm just overwhelmed right now. What has worked for you ladies out there?View Thread
