Hello my name is Hannah. I had my twin girls when I was 17 and I know it's not easy. I am 21 years old now. My girls will be 4 years old tomorrow. Now, I am 7 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child by a different daddy since the twins dad was an abusive and neglective father. I just got engaged after I found out I was pregnant. I have been dating him for almost 3 years now and he's a wonderful father to my daughters. My girls were born 12 weeks early and they have some problems due to this. They were 2 lbs 15 oz when they were born which is scary small. They are now autistic. They had problems when they were born. They had to be in the nicu for 3 months. They suffered a lot of problems after birth. They had to be on ventilators for awhile and oxygen. They had to have a few surgeries. My daughter Lainey had to have corrective eye surgery due to going blind. She now has to wear glasses. She has glasses since age 6 months. Abby now has to wear a permanent colostomy bag since she had her whole colon removed and most of her small bowel due to a perforation. Lainey suffered a minor heart attack hours after birth and luckily they were able to revive her. They have definitely been through a lot at such a young age. Even though I was only 17 when I had my babies, I have been a great mother. I dropped out of high school during my junior year to take care of my babies and I got a job to care for them. I then got my own apartment. I stayed with my girls the whole 3 months they were in NICU. I slept there with them and never left their side. It was hard being a single mother for awhile. My ex bf is in jail for abusing my girls physically, mentally, and sexually. He's there for at least 10 years. But, at least I know my girls are out of harms way. They only challenge for them now is their autism which is mild. They have behavioral problems from that and attack me sometimes. But, I still love my girls just like I would love my children who don't have any issues. I am their mama and a proud one at that. I'm just worried how my girls will handle the new baby once he or she is born.View Thread
